2007 GG Summer Exclusives Edition Sizes

I might be able to trade my way to a complete collection of the commanders, if I can get some duplicate Grees and Cody's, and if enough people are interested in Darth Malak and Luna Lovegood and Glorfindel.


I've actually never done a trade before. How does it work? You send a rare and valuable item off in the mail and hope that something else arrives to eventually take its place? I would be scared...

Tom, I think the best trustable way is to sell the glorfindel to me for the price of the bust you are looking for

Does GG even make things that aren't sold exclusively any more? Honestly? Everything I've heard about them this year is some exclusive or another. I just don't see why people put up with their crap. I personally would love some of their busts, like the clone commanders, but if EVERY one of them is a convention exclusive, I'm not even going to try. A RAFFLE for their collectors not attending to purchase the exclusives? I think I heard they used a raffle just to purchase their SDCC exclusive at the show for attendees!

Good grief. I'm glad Sideshow knows how to treat collectors.

Wow, those look really cool. I guess this means I am officially going to give up my GG collection. I jump hoops for only 2 companies and they ain't one of them. Look for my collection to show up in the for sale section.

I think I have just about had it with GG. I had some hopes that after starting up the paid membership club, they would listen to us more and do a little something to show that they care and want to interact with us and respond to our feedback and requests. But they proved today that all they care about is ignoring their fans and creating hype at our expense.

Gentle Giant doesn't care about their fans and customers.

Well someone here needs to start a petition. I think Tom has some experience in these matters. However I think one of the problems is is the powers that be at alot of the sites would not be supportive of this idea because well that have a goody goody relationship with GG and they dont want to do anything to jeopardize their standing plus some get the GG holiday gift believe it or not.

I don't see what good an online petition will do....because at the end of the day, all of these exclusives will sell out and GG will have got what they intended. $$$$$$$$$$$

the only real way to "petition" would be to not buy any of them and let them warm the shelf for a long time... Which we all know no one will do.

That's why I don't take them seriously. If I can get a piece, fine, if not no big deal, there's other things out there.

GG for me is sort of filler in between releases for other stuff.

This is exactly why I didn't. It's impossible to get them all (I have never been successful in ordering one from their website--quantities available are WAY too low). I've gone to every Celebration so far, and SDCC every year. But I can't get their other show exclusives, so it really pisses me off. Sideshow hasn't done that to us, thankfully (yet) and I hope they never do. I'll save my money and order collectibles that don't require this much hassle...

Well the only reason why I even started was I have always liked Mara Jade and I was able to get the minibust last year along with a Shocktrooper. I then started buying the statues and now Im getting into maquettes and busts.

I must be a glutton for punishment with GG. The only SW line I collect is the EU. Those are almost certainly going to be convention exclusives all the time.

I purchased the SDCC 2006 Shocktrooper but still haven't committed to purchasing the other GG busts. It's just sitting in my closet collecting dust. I hear so many bad things about their (pre-)order system, I don't want that additional headache.

Anyway, we'll see what happens this year with the SDCC pre-orders. Good luck to all.

Sideshow NEEDS to make the EU crew in 1/6, pronto. They should one-up GG whenever they can. I don't collect crippled statues anyway - I want Malak, Revan, Mara Jade, Kyle Katarn, and so on.

GG has an exclusive deal with Microsoft so you can forget about any KOTOR figures for a long time.
