We at least need Greedo, jawas, sandpeople and Tarkin from ANH. One or more of these sprinkled in with the armored characters would be nice.

These are the exact 4 figures right on top of my wish list from ANH.

Looks like i'm not getting Dooku any time soon. I haven't ordered a star wars figure in forever, I'm just not interested in obscure imperials and Army builders (anymore at least) I have enough room for the figures I really want and Sideshow just isn't making them. Where's Dooku?

Sorry Sean, that's exactly what I meant . I couldn't think of any other item that may be exclusive to the ESB Fett. I'm not sure if they will go for 2 different versions of Boba though ?

They definitely will, I agree that the ROTJ figure will probably be first since it fits into the Jabba set up but since the Armor itself was two different colors I think they'll definitely give us an ESB Boba somewhere down the line.

Well, I think some folks are taking this news a bit too literal.

I don't see it as saying 2009 will be exclusive to armored characters, just that offerings will probably be 75% armored characters 25% non.

How people forget we've already got a Piett previewed for this year so obviously its not all armor.

Would be cool if Lando in the gaurd outfit was considered an armor character, though I would much rather perfer Lando from TESB.

I fully expect Lando to be in the Skiff Guard outfit before his Bespin attire. Its obvious to me that when it comes to character choice if it can outfit their Jabba setup they'll continue to add to it.


As for me I want Cody obviously and other commanders, definitely am anxiously awaiting a AT-AT Driver more than any other OT Trooper but the one figure that I want more than anything probably won't happen. I'm hoping for a Captain Rex. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the Clone Wars cartoon I like the character design and the feel of it, more of a connection to Jango and the Clones than even Cody IMHO but it'll probably be looked over.

"Skiff Guard" Lando would be an easy pass for me. With the exception of Boussh Leia, I have none of the Jabba palace figures.

I will patiently wait for Bespin Lando.

Now that you mention it, theMike and paulcarson, they probably will give us the ROTJ Boba before the ESB Boba. The PF is also from ROTJ. I prefer the ESB Boba, but I guess I would get the ROTJ one if offered first. It would be NICE if they offered a single Boba with optional pieces to swap out and let us decide which version we want to display. Does anyone know the differences between the costumes in the 2 movies?

It's the best choice given the current state of the line. Han and Luke as the only ESB representation, a healthy sized Jabba setup, and Medicom doing ESB Boba Fett already add up to ROTJ Boba being the better first choice for Sideshow. I'm still amazed with Medi-Boba's popularity and Medicom's practices, they never did a ROTJ version.

Does anyone know the differences between the costumes in the 2 movies?

Off the top of my head, the gauntlets are different colors and one has a box over the flame thrower, the helmet is repainted, the jetpack is repainted, the belt is different with no holster for his smaller pistol and his blaster is different as well. There may also be some color differences on the jumpsuit/boots/boot covers.

I think the scraps of news concerning 2009's line up sound fine. Srue there are some major characters that still need representation, but leading towards armored characters will add more variety to the line. With Vader and some troops and clones on the way, there should be a nicely varied representation.

Besides Padme, Dooku, Chewbacca, Yoda, the Droids and Lando there aren't any pivotal true major characters that haven't seen representation from at least one of the films (yes, an EU Padme does exist). I know there are many other characters people want, but even Boba Fett qualifies at best as a supporting character in the original trilogy.

I'm sure the armored core of the releases will be interspersed with at least a few non-armored releases.

I definitely agree with the idea that a biker scout must have an optional speeder bike though.

I really don't mind if SS continues w/the armor line. I passed on the stormy cmdr, and cancelled my Utapau clone trooper. I am hoping for either or biker scout or snow trooper. But w/my current financial situation I will have to be EXTREMELY picky. My small collection is getting slighly bigger but so is my credit card...

Not to ramble but the non-armor figs will cost less? If that's the case SS please bring on Tarkin and Dooku/Tyranus.

The designs are the same save the guantlets and a couple of other things but the color schemes are completely different.

Although I'm happy with Sideshow sticking to the OT figures over the past couple of months, I'm starting to get a little bored with some of the choices they are making. We really need something different for the Toy Fair announcements like some droids or jabbas palace aliens or cantina aliens. I just want to know why the hell we got Captain Antilles before we got a Lando? We have a Praiji and yet we have no Tarkin. The choices are just strange and I know they have something to do with what they can get out of multiple costumes like the Endor troopers and obviously the Storm Troopers and basically any troop but they have really neglected some main characters.

My where the hell are these guys list? - Tarkin, Emperor, R2-D2, C-3PO, Yoda, Lando, Greedo, Jawa, Tusken Raider, Nien Numb, Admiral Ackbar, Wedge, Biggs, Boba Fett, and of course Chewbacca. And that is just from the OT.

My wtf list? - Captain Antilles, Commander Praiji, 3 different Endor Troops(we needed only one, I think we all know how to customize at this point), a freakin Chess Table?, Yavin Luke (cheap on SS part), Sidious walking holo chair, and Snow Bunny Padme.
