Not really. He's not been 100% fit since the end of the Premier League season and doesn't get anything like the same kind of support from his team-mates as he does for his club.........most of England's regular players would never make the reserves at Man Utd.

You could put Messi, Ronaldo or any other top player in the position Rooney is in and they would still struggle. Having all the individual talent in the world means nothing if you can't rely on the players around you to do their bit.

Had David Beckham not been injured before the tournament I reckon there would have been a bit more from Rooney as even though Beckham is way past his best he's still the only England player capable of delivering consistently good passes.

Meh....I'll take Donavan(playing for country) over Rooney(playing for country) anyday.

Yeah, I have to say it was a very friendly match, hardly any fouls, and only two yellow cards IIRC. Always nice to see a game like this.

Soccer won't be considered a real sport until they address stupidity like this:

There have been WAY too many gaffes in a championship series for many to take soccer seriously. Sure there are the occasional missed calls in other sports, but for this to be happening at the WORLD CUP, it's heinous officiating. Update their stance on the use of technology.
