I have a feeling they will actually come back, however I am 99% sure that those suspensions will be changed from 5 to 1 or 2. From what I have always heard is you don't cross Tressel, plus I don't think any of them have that good of a draft status, they would actually still be better served to come back and miss 5 games.

I love how selling something you own gets 5 game suspension, but saying you will go to school that pays you the most, but then saying you never knew your dad was shopping you for money so it ok since your last statement was you didnt know.

Yeah lol we felt bad and let them almost think they could win, haha.

Love it, this is so sweet. Go Bucks and Go Jim! :yess: Hometown hero!:panic:

Tressel Ball almost cost them the game again. If not for the lucky bounce on the fumble for a TD tOSU would have lost. I'm sure Mallett was having flashbacks of the Alabama game with that late INT.

There's no way the suspensions are reduced down to 1 or 2 games. The minimum reduction will be 4 games (same suspension AJ Greene served for a lesser offense). Also, add in being allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl and I doubt there's any reduction and it remains 5 games.....for the players that do come back.

I'm not gonna defend Newton, because he's a bum and should have been suspended. But NCAA rules are what they are. And those guys clearly received "improper" gifts or whatever. In both cases, the NCAA let them go on this year as if there was no problem, because they are corrupt. The 5 game suspension might as well be a $10 fine given that they were allowed to play in the Sugar Bowl.

I would say AJ greens was worse maybe less $ but Aj Green involved an agent.

And Dez Bryant got suspended for the year cause he lied about something that wasn't even a violation. Yet Newtons Dad shops him around and the Ohio State players get "gifs" and still get to play.

NCAA just needs to go away.

the ohio state guys didn't get gifts, they just sold some of their stuff

meh, same difference. they made money.

A gift is free......they made money little bit of a difference but still wrong according to the NCAA. I know it violates their amateur status but the money institutions make from these programs the kids should get some supplement kinda goofy IMO......but then what is the purpose is the NCAA at that point.

most players sell their tickets every week anyway, they just were the ones that got caught

You can break any law in this world and unless you get caught you don't get punished. I guess that makes it OK?

The NCAA is a fraud for claiming its rules are legitimate and then letting those players play yesterday. Just like it is a fraud for its creative interpretation of the Cam Newton situation.

I think this applies to just about everyone? Everyday people speed, neglect to buckle, text and drive, drink and drive, take recreational drugs, download illegal stuff etc. etc. etc. the list goes on and on. It is kinda hypocritical to play the mightier than thou card in this case.

That said, they did wrong got caught and whether people believe it is fair they also have consequences. :dunno

I'm not sure I follow, Darkseed. It does apply to everyone, because rules are rules. If you play for collegiate sports, you implicitly agree to follow their rules, with the potential cost of being sanctioned if you don't. If you drive on the road, you agree to follow the rules of the road. There are potential consequences to either if you are caught, but if you aren't caught, you are still breaking rules and would/should be punished if caught. Not sure where the hypocrisy comes in making that argument.

Ink seems to be making the argument that it is OK for the Ohio players to do as they did because others have done similar things and haven't been caught. I don't exactly agree. Yeah, they were caught, and just like a drunk driver who was caught, or a guy selling heroine was caught, the ones who are caught are the ones who are punished.

Ah...a misunderstanding. People break rules / laws daily but easily jump on the bandwagon of injustice when someone else. I may or may not agree with the outcome but it is what it is (Pryor, Newton etc).

I totally agree the NCAA is garbage and the rules for the kids way outdated but doubt any change is coming soon.
