Anybody watch them up to this point? I admit, I have always hated Soccer, but I wanted to watch the ladies just to root for them. Unbelievable match against Brazil today. I thought they were gonna get hosed by some bad calls/no calls and I hate the unsportmanship type stuff that goes on during soccer matches, but they pulled out a goal to tie it up in the final minutes, then pulled out the PK's needed to win it. Crazy ending indeed.

Brazilian women flop like Brazilian men. Holy God did they lay down more times than a French prostitute.

But the girls pulled it off! Fantastic game, despite the horrid officiating.

Been watching this myself. I usually watch big matches in the Euro leagues but especially World Cup matches. US did a hell of a job getting back into it and then winning on PK's. GO USA!!! :rock

yea, I was pissed when at the end, that Brazil chick completely faked a back injury just to run time off and then once they took her off the field on a stretcher, she ran back on like nothing ever happened :monkey4. Basketball has nothing on soccer players when it comes to flopping. It's not often poetic justice happens in sports, but I guess it happened to the Heat in the NBA as well. Every year Boston and the Yanks don't win the WS, I guess that's counts too :yess:

USA USA USA!!! Refs tried to give the game to Brazil and Brazil tried every cheap trick they could but it wasn't enough. With Germany out now USA are they heavy favorites. GO USA!!!

Today's game was one of the best soccer games I've ever seen. It'll be interesting to see if these girls have anything left in the tank after that one.

That is the thing will they have any gas left. France won't be an easy out despite theym being used to waving the white flag. :lol

That was an unbelievable soccer match! I'm just glad the US advanced. Losing this early would not have been good for the program. Plus, to end the run on some questionable calls would have stunk.
Marta was unreal for Brazil. Hard to believe she's only 25, as she plays much more mature than that.

Oh, and may the force be with you...

Yea, she's plenty sexy :monkey5, with a awesome name to add to it. The announcers believe the U.S. has the best endurance of any team, so I will take their word for it. It's not like they have to play back to back.

That name is awesome, and you gotta love such an athletic attractive woman. :yess:

Yeah, it's not like they have to play tomorrow, so they should be well rested you would hope. Is anyone staying home to watch it or watching it online at work?

I'm lucky that I get out of school at 10a and don't have to work until later on at night. Considering I don't like soccer, if I did have to work, it's not something I would call in sick for. I would only do that if it were men's olympic Basketball. I have watched the men before, but I think the women have a legit shot, it would be dissapointing if they didn't take it.

Man, those are some screwed up hours, but at least you'll get to watch the match I guess.

I'm almost the opposite now, where I used to be a huge basketball fan, but now I tend to favor soccer or hockey. :slap:lol

Yep, it sucks :lecture, as well as my current job, but this is my last semester. I remember watching the redeem team in 08, I think the gold metal game ended at like 3 or 4 in the morning, but I was prolly just as excited to see the women win their match today as I am when the basketball team won their games. My excitement doesn't dicriminate :)

Last semester is good! Here's a pre-congratulations to you! :duff

Yeah, I'm getting old. I couldn't hang with the times at all in Beijing. :lol
Had to watch the highlights, which takes the fun out of it, obviously. :monkey2

Anytime or any sport the US is playing in is always fun to watch...heck, even curling was fun to watch last year. :lol

:lol. Thanks! Yep, I remember how tired I was staying up that late, but at least I went to bed happy that morning. Curling? I can't say I know a damn thing about that "sport". I draw the line at soccer, well, you know what, as far as watching U.S. events, I have only watched Soccer and Basketball. I never really cared too much about the individual events, I may have watched a couple races.
