Weakest isn't a synonym for "sucks", especially not when we're talking about LotR which has all three movies at such an incredible high level of craftsmanship.
I'd personally rank FotR first followed by TtT just a hair above RotK.
Has nothing to do with people being millennials or not, it's called having different preferences within 3 masterpieces of the cinema, there is no wrong answer when it comes to those 3 movies, solid arguments could be made for all of them as to why ones stronger than the other.

I’m Gen X, but I’m also out of touch. Always thought FOTR & TT were considered the top two.

I have never watch the original cuts since the extended versions arrived...

But to me its definelty

FOTR
TT
ROTK

They just seemed to get more tired and lazy as they went along....

But their lazy is still perfection compare to most films....

As for the Hobbit Trilogy, still cannot get through andy of those films in a single sitting...
We need a 2 film edit of those movies...
