cool News :rock the pose is not easy for Vader... if they plan a Jedi Luke, maybe something that matches... we will see

What would people think of an untraditional pose for this? Such as kneeling to the emperor or in the meditation chamber pose?

As much as I love the GG piece (actually the ONLY GG piece I have left), I would ditch it in a heartbeat for that; I would love it! :drool

Without reading the thread however I think SS is more likely to do a ROTJ Vader with helm reveal they are suckers for that.

I'd like to have a Vader in an imposing posture, preferably without his saber (he could have it on the belt). Something to remind the Attakus Vader 1

I'd love ROTJ with reveal.

On one hand, doing the reveal is excessive so that favors going ESB and simplifying, or ROTJ without it.

On the other hand, I'm sure they'll do ROTJ in 1/6, so design a 1/4 reveal helmet could be good practice for how to achieve it in 1/6, so maybe they'll do it in the easier scale to get their feet wet and know what they're doing to implement it at the smaller scale.

I plan to get Vader as I never had the chance to snag him. I came aboard ship well after the PF sold out.

i too plan on getting Vader if he is getting a second shot at a pf, i was really not too crazy about the pose the current pf has. a great pose for me is when he is with Luke in ESB holding his fist up.

ok just thought of this ..& what if cinemaquette decide to show some love to Darth Vader ??? i really love my Vader P.F. but i can`t imagine how cool it will look a cinemaquette version.

The thing with the reveal is it'll look stupid out of context. If you have a standing Vader or a kneel and you can remove the helmet it'll look stupid IMHO. The reveal is cool but in context. I don't think they are going to do a laying on the Floor Vader where you can separate the mask.

Yeah, reveal on a PF is not really a great idea... more of just an interesting option, but not one many would choose as a display.

Indeed. Vader will die without his helmet and outside his Meditation Chamber ;) Besides that, I always wanted a Vader inside the Meditation Chamber, but this is unlikely to be done in 1/4 due to the huge size, but maybe a diorama (drooling already...)

Vader inside his Mediation Chamber is the only way any kind of reveal would make actual display sense and I'd rather they don't do it and save R&D and material and pass that onto us. I want an ROTJ Vader but if an exclusive is the reveal helmet and he isn't in any kind of laying down pose, it'd be an easy pass to save a few bucks.

Thats a good point and that would be the lamest pose ever and a for sure pass even with a removable helmet.

I think the reveal would look okay if he's in a static museum pose.

Eh. Not for me. It'd look like a higher quality version of this:

Admittedly I'm a Star Wars nerd, as such I want my stuff as close to screen accurate as possible. A mask removed from Vader would kill him therefore I have no desire for it in a PF. (pushes Nerd Glasses up). Best of both worlds would be to make it an exclusive piece so that those who want it could have it but I'm telling you sculpting the three different pieces and having be able to interlock with one another and still look great on a sculpted mixed media statue will cost much more than the standard where its just sculpted.

I really cannot see them doing a Vader to pose with lightsaber as part of a two figure set...they have already done Vader/Kenobi so why would they do the same thing but with Luke instead?? Would much prefer a different pose...maybe just standing, hands on hips, no saber or just the hilt.

This is great news might make me think about canceling my 1/6th and wait for this. Or keep my 1/6th until this comes out and then sell it.

I was thinking the same thing...I thing the latter would be the best choice. :D

This is in the "we want to revisit it" stage not the "we are working on it" stage. Why cancel the 1/6th when it will probably be 2 years until we get this one if we ever get it at all.

Not that I need a Star Wars PF (don't collect SW stuff anymore), but I still have my ROTJ Vader from Medicom, and I always wanted a Darth Vader PF! Here's hoping this one is better than the first! :rock

Awesome... I was hoping they would revisit that PF...I was always sad that I missed it. It's really too bad they wouldn't make the pose Vader throwing Palpatine at the end of ROTJ. :lol

Honestly though, any good classic Vader pose would be good, something very imposing and not a fight pose.
