Just got a new email from Smooth-On regarding new mold materials. Helps me to think about that phase to come....
Spoke with WorGar some about the bust, and I am forming a really good idea of what the finished bust will be.

Also, I hope I can recruit DA Josh when casting time comes. I could use help there.

Thanks for your offer PC! I will for sure be asking for help if and when!

That's definately cool, but I hope mine have more of a sticking up out of the water look to it so it can sit next to the figures on the same shelf.

I've seen this, it's big though, more like 1/5 or 1/4 scale, same artist has done the Rex and Raptor from JP, really talented, i'd love to have that Bruce.

Have to say, I find something lackluster about the NTT in the in hand shots.

That's some great Bruce stuff, there! I like the NTT quite a lot, and that bust is terrific. I'm still no less excited to see Les's work, though!

Oh, and that Lost World T-Rex is AWESOME. That's the kind of stuff I had hoped Sideshow would do with the JP license....must be some entanglements that make it difficult. *shrug*

Unfortunately, Sideshow's opted to cash in on the dino popularity without paying the licenses fee or getting sign offs on sculpt with Dinosauria, I don't see them ever doing JP again, if they were going to, they wouldn't have started Dinosauria I don't think. One JP piece and then head on into that, seems clear their plan. Too bad, I much prefer Winston's designs.

Oh man, imagine if Stan Winston had been part of making Bruce.

yep, you said it...Why pay for a license when you can design your own Dinosaurs? It makes business sense, for sure. I love the Dinos from Sideshow, but my childhood was wrapped up in those Winston designs....I always wished Sideshow would do some large head busts of the main dinosaurs.

A Stan Winston Studios Bruce? Man, that would be interesting to see! I wonder how he and his team would have done it...

I love Bruce just the way he is, but Winston has been responsible for so many favorite creatures and designs of mine over his body of work, I just couldn't help thinking, what if he'd made a shark for a JAWS, wouldn't even have to have been the original, just a Stan Winsto JAWS robot, just to see his take on it. Even though it didn't make it to the big screen, I'm happy to at least have photos of Winston's Godzilla maquette.

It would be very interesting to see how Winston's bunch would have solved a scale mech Shark. Even I have to admit that. Still, I totally love the Robert Mattey one we got. At least I have actually spoken to him. I did. Twice. I was a kid though. Still, love I did that.
Anyway, interesting thing to consider.

Agreed, where Winston probably would have gone much more true to a Great White's shapes and features, Les knows I much prefer how Bruce looks to real Whites so I'm glad we have what we do, wouldn't ever chancge it, just a thought that crossed my mind, the Dinosaurs in JP were so impressive. In my book, Stan was the best in the business for creatures.

Great new stills gleaned from the new Bio channel doc special of Jaws so I can start some really accurate sketches soon. This is one project that's gonna take some time, but at least I can really start on it now. Thanks to Gruff for making it possible for me to even see the damned show! The project thanks you! :bow
