2nd JAWS project: Breaching Bruce Bust by FML

This still, gleaned from the new Jaws special on Biography (Thanks again to Gruff! ), here is THE reference shot I have been waiting all these years for...a straight on, clear shot of Bruce. I even like how open the mouth is. Imagine a slightly more up angle, and less body showing, so there's a smaller shelf footprint, and you get closer to the image I have had in my mind for the bust I want to make.
And you see absolute scale here also. Shape and scale in one terrific reference shot.
(For the record, that's Chew Crew top team member Richie Helmer there with his foot in Bruce's mouth. Another of the great unsung heroes of the original film Bruce project)

The bust I want to make should look a lot like this when done. I hope!

OK, Les and I have talked about this at lenght many times but I got this picture of "those other guys" shark and decided to crop it in a way that would reflect what Les' bust might look like per our discussions...

If I remember correctly, the height on something like this would be approx. 9-10 tall, so the snout comes to about the shoulder line of our crew.

Maybe the mouth would be better off to be a little more closed, more like that pic in the above post.

Anyway, with barrels and all, I thought I'd give this project another ***.

Lots happening soon. Got to get past the old work in the next month or so, but planning on the bust is already underway.

And, I may actually be posting some in-progs of this upcoming bust of the shark, and at this time, I have no plans to offer it outside our group, and for now, even show it outside our group either, anywhere, at all.

I hope I have something of it to show soon. By Summer for sure. Got a lot to sort out regarding it before then.
