If I can't walk in and pick one up on my lunch break, I will be very upset.

Prepare to be upset.

I can't believe people are going this crazy over this system. You would think that all the red flags would have people holding off on the initial launch systems, but I guess Sony fanboys are as dumb as they seem.

ha, ha. good one tom. i heard there will be a good bit of Wii's though so hopefully i can just call my local retailers every day(after i try the morning of launch) or so to see if they have them in and get one before christmas. bring on link! in the meantime, hopefully microsoft will hurry up and send me my replacement 360...gears of war is calling me!!

I'm thanking my lucky stars right now.:D My order at Gamestop went through, and I'll happily be picking mine up this Friday.... after my 7 hour art class.:monkey1

I was the very last person to miss the first shipment at my EB. I'm not too upset, because the manager told me that I'll definitely get one before Christmas, and probably within the next 1-2 weeks. He'll call me as soon as it comes in.

I am sure people waiting to sell these on ebay are a big reason to blame. You can not blame someone who really wants something to get in line and wait for it. These types of things do not happen very often and I am sure for a lot of people it is a great time. All it takes is that first person to get in line and then everyone will follow. We live in a have to have it now world, as collectors we know this as well as anybody.

Hopefully there is not to many problems with the system, I guess in one day we will know for sure.

email from gamestop:

Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, PS3
Turns out at least one of these may be real. Friday evening, we will have a limited quantity of PlayStation 3 20 Gig HD bundles available for online pre-order. Each bundle will include an extra wireless controller, six games, a one-year product replacement plan, a 12 month subscription to Game Informer and a Resistance: Fall of Man guide. The price will be $994.28 plus tax and handling. We expect these bundles to ship on or before December 1.

Found this interesting.

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - Wii outsold rival PlayStation 3 by more than double in the United States in November as the freshly launched video game consoles vied with Xbox 360 for devotees, figures showed. Nintendo sold 476,140 of its Wii consoles in the United States in November while Sony managed to sell 196,580 of its new PlayStations, according to industry tracking group NPD.

During the month, Microsoft sold 511,300 of its Xbox 360 consoles, which it brought to market a year ago. Wii and PlayStation 3 were released for sale in the United States in mid-November.

Manufacturing problems curtailed the number of PlayStation 3 systems available for the US and Japan launches and prompted Sony to postpone the consoles' Europe debut next year.

Wii consoles were snatched-up quickly after their debut in Europe on Friday as the innovative system featuring motion-responsive controllers gained status as the must-have video game.

Wii!!!!

Seriously, if I HAD to get PS3 or 360, I hate to say it, as an original X-Box ney-sayer, I'd go 360. So far, better games, cheaper, and easier to find. That's just my take though.

Screw it, GET A WII WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!?!?!?!?!?

.

If there had been 476,000 PS3's at launch they all would have sold too.

The part I found most interesting was the fact that 360s out sold both. I understand that they are easy to find and they have had some nice bundles but you wouldn't think it would sell that many. I know that the 360 had the entire month to sell but I would be suprised to hear that most of them were not sold during the same time period as the PS3/Wii

Gears of War! Nuff said! Sorry Sony! I will buy you though when you have good games. I refuse to buy into the hype. Oh wait what hype? I did buy a Wii though.

that and the fact that people in japan are finally starting to buy 360s. rainbow six is also a fantastic, top-selling game that is boosting sales. wait until the Halo bomb gets drop this time next year and i think MS will finally take control of the market for good. and the fact that there are finally some good RPGs coming out this upcoming year, the future looks really go for xbox owners....

I agree Rainbow Six is great, I rented it but not sure I will buy it, since I will have beat it on realistic pretty quick.
