A non sequitur? Ok. No American jobs have been lost to other countries. Fair enough.

You have clearly proven you're no *******.

Of course jobs have been "lost" to other countries. Hurray free market! But it's a non sequitur because it doesn't follow on from the conversation. Next I'll suddenly point out that women make less than men, and we'll pretend it's somehow relevant.

You told me if I didn't like it, I could get out. It was the only scrap of bilge from your response that I thought worth addressing. Particularly since my entire point was that I had no obligation to the welfare of others.

Ironic that you would invite me to take the same course of action as those who thought likewise, who took your advice, and with them the jobs that those in need claimed as their right.

And I pointed out that we collectively through the mechanism of representative democracy have determined that we do have an obligation to the welfare of others. I can see why you find it difficult to follow conversations if you cherry pick some lines while ignoring others.

I didn't cherry pick it. I do not accept that because a mob made a decision, reality has somehow magically transformed so that I owe assisstance to those in a weaker financial state.

Can you guys take a vote on the color of the sky too? I'm getting tired of blue, and I'm sure others are as well.

That and 99¢ will get you a McChicken sandwich...

That .99 got John Rockefeller a billion dollar oil empire. It got James Hill the first railroad to the Pacific Northwest. It got J.P. Morgan the power to save the Federal government and the city of New York multiple times, and the power to finance the industrial boom of the late 19th century. It got Thomas Edison 1093 patents.

Clearly, a dollar is not worth what it used to be.

It didn't do any of those things, of course, but ain't mythology grand! :D
