Re: [RIP Workshop | 8-bit] MARVEL ZOMBIE PUNISHER, ZOMBIE JOKER, ARKHAM JOKER, WW

Bro that isn’t cheating that’s just plain smart :lol

Painting eyes literally takes me days, the actual process doesn’t take long but if you don’t let it fully dry and you make a mistake you are screwed. So if you can cut down that time and still get good results then that’s great.

I’m actually going to give it a try myself. Do you use the 1/6 or 1/8 scale ones?

The worst things about eyes are trying to get symmetry, or a sense of it... especially when the eyes themselves are asymmetrical or even a bit oddly shaped. I usually paint the eyes quickly with the intention that I'll go back and tweak or redo them once the rest of the head is done. I do find after the eyes have a gloss coat I can get the lines to be a bit cleaner, but they are a pain :lol

thanks man. i think he'd look pretty cool holding a machine gun with his head cocked back like the classic scarface pose - right in the middle of shooting. you could even fashion a faux muzzle fire for the machine gun out of cotton or resin - would look pretty dynamic i think.

Thats a great idea, I'll have to look into that. Right now I have him with a bayonet kinda like when he cuts Davids throat. You really nailed this guy! Cant wait for Caine to make the other 3

mate, it is seriously unbelievable how good at painting you are for such a short time doing it. You honestly must have been given this awesome talent from birth and only realized this in late 2012. I know people who have been painting for 10+ years and are no where near as good as you!

I have gotten alot of work from many amazing artists from this board and although they are awesome, none come close to the awesomeness of what you have done for me :) thats why im so rapped to have you painting my remake jason, jason part 3 and chromeskull. What ya did with my pennywise was unbelievable everyone who looks at them say ur painting is the best LOL

also i feel ya pain with ya dog, one of my dogs eats everything, hes a big dog and always finds ways to get to food, once he must have jumped onto the kitchen bench and ate all the cupcakes my wife just baked LOL even ate all the wrappers. Hes also decided to jump on the coffee table and bite the lid off my fish oil tables and eat half of the bottle LOL cheeky little bugga. Gotta be so careful, good to hear everythings ok though :)

thank you phil - that's very kind of you to say :) my dog feels much better today :)

thanks :) i appreciate it. i make my own for each project generally. you can paint over them, which i sometimes do depending on whether i need to or not.

thanks caine :) it's a fantastic sculpt - you should be very proud my friend :)

Curly is fantastic!

I had no idea you've only been painting for less than 2 years. Seriously my friend, you have a gift. I'm not much for hyperbole or sychophancy so believe me when I say you're one of the best painters on this board. Easily in the top 5, maybe even top 3. And with the talent we have here that's high praise. Looking forward to seeing you grow as an artist and become even better.. .if that's possible.

Just looked up those Archer decals. Why do these decal companies always feel the need to add the doll dot/glare to the eye. Its completely unnecessary and ruins them. I've been wanting to experiment with eye decals but the ones I've seen always have them. Are there any made that don't have them?

thank you michael :) i really appreciate the kind words :)

i don't use store bought ones. i make my own for each project. i don't like the printed hotspots either plus i'm not very keen on the look of the archer design.

Zombie Blondie, nice!!!

I was looking through your paint ups and saw a Bub from Day of the Dead that looks amazing. I was curious who made that sculpt? Saw one on ebay that looked pretty good but prolly not the same one.

thanks man :) the BUB head is actually a replacement set for a previously released model kit, so the scale is off enough from 1/6 that we can't really sell it as such.
