Congrats I think you did the right thing

a little difference is still a little difference, people who preach that its best not to take any steps in life (little as they sometimes may feel) to improve our society are just trying to justify all the injustices they see...I'm not saying this act is one of those all important moral choices but it is good to see people actually making right choices every now and then, every little bit eventually helps the bigger picture...

I'm sorry, but I think your original stream of logic made sense. You bought a recast from someone who bought it from a recaster. The recaster saw none of the money from your transaction. It's just like when you buy used video games, the game developer sees none of that money.

In the end, though, it is your money and whatever makes you feel better is okay with me

I tend to agree. It seems more like cutting off your nose to spite your face to me. It would be like boycotting gasoline because the oil companies suck. They won't care, and you will never get enough people to boycott to make a difference. You just end up losing a job, or getting stranded in the middle of nowhere and the big bad oil company laughs if they hear about it.

Which accomplishes what exactly? It makes him and you guys feel better, that is it. I like Ed but all the praise he is getting for this is completely stupid. He still bought a recast, and the the recaster technically has his money. I say technically because he bought it off a guy who bought it off a recaster. The recaster hasn't been hurt at all by this. In fact he probably will be able to make more recasts off the money he got for this statue in the first place.
