I don't think its weird, more like a necessity. Some of these figures are drying up so you have to get them while you can. They wont be around for ever.

Yeah, that's just the way it is. Miss out and pay out the nose later. I guess that's what happens when a company produces the highest quality action figures in existence.

Hot Toys figures seem like a safer investment than gold at this point.

He's supposedly going to get a re-release later, but one way or the other, I would suggest you get him while you can around retail. That figure's pre-orders sold out almost everywhere. Just like P1 Predator, he's only gonna go up in price.

It's happened to me enough that I'm pretty much buying anything I think that I might want later, just in case. I did that with Wolverine, and I did that with Blade.

I missed out on the Hastings Mark I last year, and regret that one particularly. RobbiethePainter's avatar actually pisses me off. Because it keeps throwing that one in my face.

I was in the same boat IC. I just kept seeing the reviews and pics and what I truly wanted to see for the T800 is the BD version so I can decide which one I want overall.

That said, I found this listing last week on Ebay for $165 shipped and jumped on one. It's going to be insanely difficult to not open it but I hope I can withstand it until HT's shows the BD version and I can make a final decision.

I ordered one from them for $135 shipped and got a SS mini MK I bust. Sent it back for a refund and since then I can't bring myself to buy another for $300 + on Ebay. DAMN YOU ROBBIE!!!

I just PO'd the T-800 last week at this store here who has got to get them in stock yet. They had a great price and it turns out I wasn't a moment too soon, because I pretty much immediately got reply that they were expecting them in stock next week

Thats awesome! So you'll be getting it sooner than expected then?

You going to try swapping out the arm? Mine wouldn't budge, and if I tried any harder I would have probably more likely ripped the entire arm off so after about 5 solid minutes of trying I gave up and left it.

BUT, since it's gonna be a B-day present I won't get it 'til August 20th...
So it will be a quick check if the figure is ok, and then the box will be closed for another 7 weeks or so...

Well I sold my extra 12" Peter Venkman so I can now afford to prerorder one of the following, Iron Man MIV, Whiplash, Abigail, T1000, Perseus or Danstan.

Like the Enitity my girl wants to buy me a Hot Toy for my birthday in August. But she wants to buy 'the best one' which to her is IM MIV, Abi Gail or T1000.

I can order one now but which one?
I'm leaning towrads me doing T1000 today as I think he's gonna be a mega sell out and letting my girl get either Abigail or IMIV.

So what should I do lads?

I would get the T-1000 for definate! With the amount of stuff that comes with it I will be extremely suprised to see another of him!

You have the BD Mk III don't you? So if your not bothered about having a representation from Iron Man 2 then you could strike the m IV off your list. However, if you do want a representation from the film, the (as of yet, un-announced) mk VI may be better since it is more different visually to the mk III.

And you have Blade don't you? If so then Abigail would go great with him and make for a more powerful display than if she was by herself. Such a great sculpt on that figure as well!

Suppose it depends if you are wanting to be a completist with regards to Iron Man having a representation of each suit, or if you would rather have more variance with Abigail.

Personally, if I already had the BD mkIII and Blade, I would probably go with Abigail

All just my opinion of course. But Abigail would then make for a more varied display, rather than the mk IV, wh to the average viewer of your collection may just see two of the same figure with regards to Iron Man, rather than two different representations of the same character.

If that makes sense

Of course you can always just tell her to suprise you
