For anyone doubting it's been improved, just compare it to the images over on the order page.
The head has been painted better, and the hair is a lighter brown. I can't tell if they modified the head sculpt any because those are the best images I have found so far. A more strait on level head shot would help quite a bit. If anyone has some pictures of Leia at the con, please post them.

I'm still looking forward to this. And hoping my exclusive comes through on the waitlist. I actually ended up wanting the binders afterall.

It looks like her knees are bent so I don't know that her dress is any longer.

Her dress should be made of a cotton like material. It should not be shiny.

Here are some movie stills:

The actual gown is a very light-weight fabric without any real sheen or shine, loose-weave and very soft. Sideshow's is a bit too shiny, but I still like it.

I'm just going by the photos, but it appears the material they are currently using is a somewhat stiff polyester. It needs to be a cotton blend to water treat well.

Well, I'm not sure they're thinking about water treating the outfits when choosing the best material. :lol

I would imagine they're going for a material that sits well on the body (which despite what people say) does lay fairly well on the figures out of the box and water treatment isn't a necessity, so this material is probably the best they could find to capture the thin quality of the film outfit while also being sturdy enough to hold up, and also stay within budget.

IMPORTANT: Can someone who saw this figure at SDCC tell me, are her eyes still painted looking out the corners, some of the con images I've seen look like they're painted to look straight now on the floor piece there, but they're all at weird angles so looking for confirmation.

If I remember right it appeared she was looking straight ahead now.

That'd be great news, it makes things more realistic to have the corner looking eyes, but in the end it'd be very limiting for the figure so if they changed it to looking straight that'd be good news.

Yeah, it's hard to be sure, but at least with the knees slightly bent, it helps give the appearance of additional length...the slight downward view of he photo adds to this as well.

One thing I'd like to see (but she's probably in production by now so it's too late) is a wire on the hem of the dress. it would help to be able to add some "pleating" for some straight-up poses that would help the drape and hang of it. The way the dress is draping on her just looks a little doll-like and out of scale.

Not to say she doesn't look great....she does!

it would be very easy to slide a small wire ie the metal inside a twisty tie into the hem of her skirt, ive done that with all the LOTR releases and it works incredibly well

You're right...from the pic, it looks like the hem is just enough to handle that. I'll definitely give that a try when we get her....

I just hope that the actual dress material is more pliable than what we see there. It just looks to starched stiff.
