This will be the new Thing PF.
It's beginning to look that way and as I recall wasn't there a discount with the Thing?

I think that Sideshow has misjudged Marvel collectors. There seems to be a certain threshold that fans are willing to pay top dollar for a sculpt. When it comes to villians, no fan will want to pay more for that villian than they would the more popular hero. In other words I would expect Hulk to cost more than Abom. Only popular villians can command a high price. Villians like Thanos with a light-up Infinity Gauntlet or a Apocalypse with all his guns pointed and ready to shoot, would demand such a high price and fans may be willing to pay the extra cost. Abomination just falls short with just a pair of blue trunks and a fire hydrant. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic sculpt and I would love to have it but he's no Thanos and if I had to spend $500.00 it would be on Thanos or Apocalypse not Abomination.

Yeah I would agree on the popularity and that it would have to be a more mainstream villain. Also the Hulk is against everybody so he really doesn't have a go to villain, heck Iron Man could be his villain :lol

I don't think a price should be based on popularity. There should be a price point for the Hulk-sized PFs and one for normal-sized PFs. I think that is the case and (unfortunately) Hulk-sized PFs will hover around $500.

I dont have any problem paying 500$ for this..it is worth the price IMO...It will just take a little more time for me to pay it completely...But its definitely coming here....:rock

Its so Big !!!! That what she said.

In a perfect world popularity would be a non issue however hot items cost more than non hot items. The bench mark was set by Sideshow when they charged a certain amount for their PF Hulk followed by the Thing and Thor respectively. The price different between these PF's and the Abomination PF is 65% which is a significant increase. If the cost went up by $50 then I could say OK inflation but $175 increase?:google is a bit much and that's not including shipping of such a large sculpt.

Hey some people can afford to pay this and some people have limits. I'm talking about the unsold product still sitting on the shelves.

Personally i think abom is the right price, its man-thing imo who's 100$ overpriced.

Man-Thing and Abomination are pretty stellar. A Marvel fan with the funds and the shelf space would do well to pick up both. (Sadly, I only fall into the first category, and not the latter two. :( )

I dont know what the problem is? beside the cost and size. This piece is an awesome piece if you have a chance to see it in person.

totally man, i was all in a bother about spending this much on him until i saw him in person. though i'm sure this will be cheap on the secondary market, i'm glad i got him now.:D

No one here is saying the sculpt is not fantastic but rather its a great sculpt. What is drawing a complaint from most collectors is the price tag. If the price was in the range of the the Hulk or Thing this would not even be a issue. A 65% increase over recent PF's like Thor, The Thing and the Hulk is a lot for a lot of collectors to swallow especially in these hard economic times. Also consider the fact that certain characters enjoy a certain status for example if this had been PF Thanos with light-up Infinity Gauntlet or a PF classic Juggernaut with a real metal helmet, arm & knuckle bands then I could see $500 for a asking price. But for Abomination? I don't get the price increase of this amount.
