Remy, that looks terrific!
I love the UC letter openers. It took me ages, but I eventually cobbled together an entire set. (Hadhafang took me effing forever to find.) The scale from sword to sword seems to vary greatly -- Sting, Strider's Elven Knife and Legolas' White Knives are much larger than you'd expect -- but they seemed to be going for shelf presence above strict scale rules.
UC actually made that sword in three different versions. They made Narsil (pre-Sauron stomp), the Shards of Narsil (with Rivendell Elven statue) and the reforged Anduril (with the printing up the blade). I think the one you've got there might be Narsil. Unless I just can't see the printing because of the shadows. (Narsil is actually the one I keep at my desk at work to open mail!)
It never even occurred to me that it might be close to the right size. Looks great there!
Yes, I am really blown away by the craftmanship of this miniature sword.
Its like UC applied the almost the same craftmanship making this letter opener, much like their lifesize swords.
It is very HEAVY for the figure!!! I tried several dynamic poses with it but the arm keeps coming down.
My poor Tyler Durden figure, he got whacked a couple of times. lol.
Yes, I have Narsil. I've been looking for Anduril but I'm not sure if they ever released that.
The only picture I could find was just the production picture.
All the in hand pictures I have found were Narsil or the shards of Narsil you mentioned with the statue.
I'm tempted to get Shards of Narsil.
The Noble Collection letter opener is 1/6 scale
I came very close to buying Noble.
But after seeing your other picture, just for me personally, the size is still kinda small
This is from your comparsion picture.
One of the main reason I couldnt pull the trigger on Noble is that I think the sword handle is not detailed enough.
It has the same dull finish as the stock sword. I tried to buff ACI's using Mother's Aluminum polish, but it didnt do anything.
Also, I really love the 3 gold triangular inserts in the handles, I think it brings a lot of elegance to the sword.
ACI I believe is just painted, and Noble isnt even painted.
UC has a separate gold insert in there...not just painted. The Sword handle is really really impressive.
I've watched a lot of videos of the lifesize sword, the miniature is very close to it.
Even the blade's edges looks like a real sword's sharpened edges.
If the size is a concern, The UC Ranger sword is very close to 1/6 scale. Its an inch smaller than Narsil.
I also have that sword, and I was actually very very torn cause I know my display is Ranger Aragorn without the gauntlets and the cloak.
So I really should display mine with the Ranger sword.
But I really love the Narsil sword, so I'm keeping that as the display.
May switch it up every once in awhile.
Here's the United Cutlery Ranger sword, ACI Anduril, and United Cutlery Glamdring
