I wouldn't cut it at all and don't think it's necessary. Clipper King's looked fantastic with just styling and considering what this figure is going for on the aftermarket, I wouldn't 'mod' it at all (I get the plan isn't to sell right now but collections tend to change over time, even if one still likes the figure). I know that would be a deal breaker for me in regards to buying one.I know I need to cut the hair but I'm a'scurred to do it.
heres my first go round on the hair mod. waiting on some parts to add some curls, but here it is for now. pretty much based off of everyone else's techniques here, plus i repainted the beard and eyebrows

Remy, that looks terrific!
I love the UC letter openers. It took me ages, but I eventually cobbled together an entire set. (Hadhafang took me effing forever to find.) The scale from sword to sword seems to vary greatly -- Sting, Strider's Elven Knife and Legolas' White Knives are much larger than you'd expect -- but they seemed to be going for shelf presence above strict scale rules.
UC actually made that sword in three different versions. They made Narsil (pre-Sauron stomp), the Shards of Narsil (with Rivendell Elven statue) and the reforged Anduril (with the printing up the blade). I think the one you've got there might be Narsil. Unless I just can't see the printing because of the shadows. (Narsil is actually the one I keep at my desk at work to open mail!)
It never even occurred to me that it might be close to the right size. Looks great there!
Yes, I am really blown away by the craftmanship of this miniature sword.
Its like UC applied the almost the same craftmanship making this letter opener, much like their lifesize swords.
It is very HEAVY for the figure!!! I tried several dynamic poses with it but the arm keeps coming down.
My poor Tyler Durden figure, he got whacked a couple of times. lol.
Yes, I have Narsil. I've been looking for Anduril but I'm not sure if they ever released that.
The only picture I could find was just the production picture.
All the in hand pictures I have found were Narsil or the shards of Narsil you mentioned with the statue.
I'm tempted to get Shards of Narsil.
Yup. UC released Anduril. Here's a quick shot of mine.
It's pretty much identical to Narsil, except for the lettering. (Which is stamped into the metal but is actually very subtle and kind of hard to see unless you angle it into the light.) It doesn't have the mirror finish that the Noble version has. But it does have the hilt inserts you mentioned.
Sweet! It does exist!
Very cool! Oh man, grats for having one. I have been looking all over for that one!
Thanks man, I'm gonna keep an eye out for one and nice to know its out there.
Yeah, I know it may seem like a minute detail, but I really love the gold inserts. I think its such a cool design...with
mostly silver finish, but with some subtle gold. As I mentioned, it really makes the sword look elegant, yet imposing.
I came very close several times to buying the Noble, I do think its also a nice sword. But I just like the look of the UC better.
I love the UC set. Really nice attention to detail. Took me ages to finally get them all.
This is the whole set of 11. But as you can see, they're not all in the same scale. Tracking these down (along with the Weta helms series) were some of the most satisfying collectibles hunting I've done. Took years to get them all, but so worth it!
Big Bad Toy Store must be the last place on the planet getting this. Another week and still nothing.
Yes, I've been waiting for mine patiently, but I can tell you that the ports have been very backed up for the past couple of months and it's been causing delays with some of the figures we are waiting on.
So, did you notice that BBTS changed the estimated time for arrival tonight? Now second quarter 2015. Limited Nazgul is still First quarter, regular Nazgul is now listed as March.
