ACI Toys: Ringwraith Figure

Yep, looks great, no seam on head. I still think the sword looks short. Would love to see the scale of this next to something. Would be nice to have this next to the Asmus WK -- both companies together.

But again, this is $80+ more. I haven't been able to find it for less than $230.

I agree. But all I need this character to do is sit on a horse. If I wanted more pose-play out of it I'd probably think the extra money for a (likely) better body would be worth it, and the lack of seam would be a bonus. I thought that the Asmus seam provided a way better shape than the ACI, but these pics show a pretty good shape I think, at least from front on. I think the fabric has been better resolved too at the edges - the Asmus one shows a lot of frayed threads that betray the scale.

I think that's what's holding me back; for the record i do think this is superior to the asmus one, but end of the day it's just a dude in a black robe. If you put both figures in front of someone i'd say even lotr fans would assume they were the same figure; or at the very least be shocked at the 80$ difference bvetween the two. It doesn't even have a HS to judge by.

Also; one nitpick that's been bugging me with both figures is how the robe seems to fray into near nothingness from the waist down; i really don't think you should be able to see that much of their legs, but this could just be down to posing/futzing.

The new shots are great, the hood seems properly sized in most of those shots, something that really hurt the figure in intial pics IMO. I can't help but feel that ACI would have sold more pre-orders if the prototype pictures had been properly futzed and looked like this.

These shots are also making my decision which Nazgûl to get harder, but I think the price of this is too much for me. Seb showed that making a custom hood is possible, so I think I will still go the Asmus route and make a new hood myself. Straight out of the box this one seems to look much better though.

I just received tracking info for both the ACI RingWraith and the Asmus one So hopefully they get to me soon. Looking forward to see how they stack up next to each other. I think I'm the odd one out. I honestly think the ACI figure looks far superior. Even just the fabric alone looks like it's better quality and will need less futzing. Time will tell I suppse.

Looking forward to your pics brandon; the pics in this thread are nice but clearly "spruced up" a little. I'm keen to see how this looks with minimal futzing and in natural lighting.

mine was shipped out today from seller 7toys7. It's coming to the US from Hong Kong, so it might be a week or two before it gets here - but it's on the way! From the pics, this looks like a home run (though I do agree with Worgar that the swords look a little on the short side in the pics)

Haha I was born in Canada and moved out of the snow nearly 10 years ago to live by the sunny beaches! My Australian friends gave me the nickname "CB", Canadian Brandon.

Well according to the tracking it arrived at my post office around 5am and is scheduled to be delivered this afternoon. Pretty excited. It feels like it's been a long time since I got a lord of the rings item.

Will have to decide whether to display him next to the WK or Strider or the hobbits.
