OMG!?!?!?

I was prepared to bid on this but it's already up to 4K in the first day. My limit was going to be a little over 2K.

This really makes me happy though. I hope it does easily reach 10K because it's a very worth cause. I hope some more rich people jump on the bandwagon and get the final bid even higher. :clap

I would say busts are a little different given that you really can't change the pose too much...

Apparently you aren't aware of how much this weak piece is selling for right now and you hold Sideshow on a pedestal of sworn originality that isn't there.

OK. Your response to me was very ignorant. You assume I have no idea about the secondary market value on this piece...well you are just wrong. Secondly, I don't hold Sideshow up on a pedestal nor did my previous post imply that I do or ever did. I simply stated that something like the proposed has not been done ever before by Sideshow collectibles.

Let's examine this post here...
spiderman 1:1 bust
scarface 1:1 bust
daredevil legendary scale bust

All of these "Variant" items were released or announced close together. These items were not long sold out. Name me one item Sideshow ever re-released years later with just a couple of tweaks. I implore you.

I agree that Sideshow is not above re-releasing the same statues with different paint jobs. I would like to say that but we know is not true.

A lightup feature will do much better than a Tony head regardless of what they decide to do.

international variants of scarface & spider-man were never officially announced by sideshow

the daredevil LS bust has been sold out long time just recent 2nd chance & yellow version variant hasn't been officially announced yet ( i suspect sdcc)

The previously mentioned busts aside, I would put the Spidey PFs in the list. I am sure people that got the regular or exclusive didn't appreciate a much more collectible classic version being released later. Heck, the black/red looked better.

What about the Connery Bond PF? The Buffy PF re-release? They all add to the edition size of the basic established run (a regular and and exclusive) with a new slightly tweaked item that blindsides consumers months later. Or worse yet, secret international exclusives.

This new IM falls under the same category if it comes to be. I love SS but you gotta "call shenanigans" when something is shady.

The grey hulks were technically exclusives weren't they? Obviously I can't say with any certainty sideshow won't do another IM in the same pose, even if they haven't in the past (or have as exclusives or international variants or whatever) they could do it now. The pose is certainly awesome enough, its one of the things I like most about the figure.

BTW What are the international variants? I don't think I've seen them.

EDIT: I forgot about the Thunderball Bond and the second PF Buffy, those definitely show its been done before. Thanks for the reminder SLF.

as long as the original never falls below retail then people should have no complaints

unless they planned on flipping? :D

it's a new thing this year with sideshow

scarface international bust had a blue suit with white shirt

spider-man bust had silver eyes

both 1st appeared in UK shops pre-order, no SS announcement but confirmed when asked

You raise some interesting points. I had forgotten about such statues as Buffy and Bond. They were the exact same pose with minor tweaks....weak!:lol

Seriously though, I think if Sideshow were to re-release the same Iron Man statue as before with different paint then it will be an ultra limited run. Truthfully, I would be pissed. There is something about that move that is as you put it, "shady".

Sideshow should really officially announce these additions to the run size. It isn't very fair to the collectors to not know what is going on or have to scour the internet to find obscure runs. :emperor

Don't foget the Australian Exclusive Scarface in the Pinstripe suit.

Actually that might be a record for a Freaks board member. :lol

Unless the high bidder is Gruson, or P1X4R, or Monster.

I might go another $1000-$1500 higher, but it looks like I might be wasting my time. With all this talk I'm hearing about the release of an IM with light up features in the future, it might be prudent to wait.

If you can afford it, do it

I would
