To be honest, I'm dreading putting Piett next to Vader... he'll probably look extremely small next to Vader's gargantuan size.
On the plus side, he'll look really good next to the Stormies.

Yes, the cylinders are packed separately in 3 little trays. Didn't even notice them.

Interesting. I love how even Sideshow packaging evolves with lessons learned from past figures. I'm sure the next Vader will have a different setup than the ANH figure to protect the tusks more.

I imagine a lot of folks wrote/called in about losing Praji's pins so they learned and came up with Piett's new setup.

Just glad there isn't going to have to be a program to obtain your pins post-figure-receipt.

Funny how those little things really change how the guy looks if they're missing.

He looked great with the Stormies and no worse than the Stormies next to Vader in the shot Sideshow did a while back with them all together.

Cool pics Wor-Gar! :rock I can't wait to have Piett in hand, curious though does his box say admiral or captain? And no I don't know what rank I am looking at. :)

EDIT: :lol This thread is titled "Admiral Piett Image thread", never mind.

I'm sure once it's futzed correctly the cloth will look better. More in keeping with the material of the outfit and all. I'm definitely gonna try all I can to use the cloth over the plastic hat.

The big problem with the cloth hat is the brim -- not really wide enough. Maybe some water treatment and some ironing will bring it out more.

The thing that really deters me from using the plastic caps is the blatant material contrast. You can just see it's not like the shirt. I'm a bit surprised really, Sideshow can do some amazing things with replicating clothe textures in polystone and resin and all, look at Gandalf's hat, but the Imperial caps just look like plastic to me, they have a bit more shine, no texture really. Cloth just looks more appropriate with the whole mix.

Very true. The plastic cap and boots both look very toyish this time around.

Trying to capture the sculpt with warm, harsh light...

The eyebrows fail but the rest looks damn good for such a secondary character.

But as you all know, in hand and in scale this sculpt is very impressive. One of SS's best sculpts actually.

:lecture :lecture :lecture That's exactly why I didn't go the sculpted route with Praji.

It's pretty exciting to get an Andy B. sculpt again, I can't even remember the last thing I got, well commercially, his Bale and DeNiro are the last things I got from him.

Oh, this is Andy's work. Oh yeah. No wonder it's so good.

And on the hat, this plastic one being green is even worse than Praji's. Actually the green doesn't even match.

Yup, this is an Andy B. head, it was listed that way on the Sideshow site and I confirmed it with him.

Mikey commented on his hair looking blonde, is it on the blonde side or is it more a whitish version of a brown? Hasbro's little Piett used a very faded brown, like a white wash had been done over it making it greyish brown and I'm wondering if that's how this figure's hair is, it looks it in some shots.

Won't be getting mine this week that's for sure.
I called SSC they won't be shipping mine out until either Thursday or Friday.
:(
Still busy from SDCC they told me.
