This is a really nice figure, can't wait to receive mine from BBTS. My focus are OT Imperials and I always liked Piett. From the pics I've seen the cloth hat looks ok even directly from the package, which was not the case with Praji whose hat needed some futzing.

hmmm...

Am i the only one who thinks the head needs to shrink by around 1-2 milimetres?

Looking at him i get reminded of the Hot Toys TDK Costume Batman/TDK Film Batman "BobbleHead" syndrome...

A repaint and maybe slight sculptural modifications would definatly bring Kenneth Colley (the actor who played Piett) out of the sculpt, its there...just not 100%

I got mine.

Body is awesome. Clothes are tailored wonderfully and the cloth hat is a must.

The likeness in person is pretty spot on.. if Piett weighed about 25 lbs less. I am afraid thats where the likeness is lost. Andy sculpted him to be too gaunt. But he still looks great and well worth it. My favorite imperial. :love

Wor-Gar, I hate to bring up a prob with another fig, but does Piett have a different color head as compared to the neck, as Toht did?

No, not really, I didn't notice that as an issue.

I got to say I do prefer sculpted heads and necks (the old way) to this pro stuff. I don't need the extra articulation in the neck and the girth of the pro neck never seems to look natural.

Wonderful! I thought I noticed a bit of a difference in one of your photos so I'm happy to hear otherwise.

I prefer the sculpted necks myself also. I'm not sure if I remember who said it but someone pointed out in the Indy section, probably when a neck was glued then sculpted in place on Dr. Jones, that the overall look of the head sculpt is made to look less accurate by the separate neck joint. This seems to stand out all the more with certain characters, especially the older ones. SS should consider doing as HT has done and use a sculpted neck when appropriate.

I am surprised to see every figure getting the jointed neck treatment, I wonder if we'll ever see a figure with a sculpted neck on the new bodies. It'd be a shame for Tarkin, being old, the neck should be there to have sculpted elements run into it like Old Ben and Palpatine, surely an adapter like HT uses isn't hard to do. It should be like HT does, sculpted necks where it's better for the character and jointed where it's better. Han Solo, yeah jointed is better for cool blasting poses and all, Piett, he just stands aroudn, sculpted would look natural and not take away from the figure.

Same here, I have to agree with you. Exposed joints can be ugly.:(

the head could be used to make a great custom Roger from Dawn of the Dead

The neck from a TT and a Pro are identical so I don't think it would take much at all for SS to do sculpted necks as well. If SS went with the neck joint across the board with their 1/6 line it would show a real lack of vision and creativity. Tarkin would be a great example of a character that demands a sculpted neck. Perhaps that's why Piett looks a bit "gaunt", he's lacking the extra fat under his chin and down his neck, making him look a bit on the thin side?

I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Piett is taller than Prajji.

If that's so, then Piett must be on the new, modified Pro, the original Pro figures are about the height of Short Buck figures, which is what Praji is on.

Since Prajji is basically a background character as far as I am concerned he is shorter than Piett. :lol
