Won't be getting mine this week that's for sure.
I called SSC they won't be shipping mine out until either Thursday or Friday.
:(

Well, he's not necessarily the most exciting figure -- quite simple really -- but I think like Praji he'll grow on people once added to a display.

He also SCREAMS Star Wars OT! Which is always good.

Yeah, I'm excited to have him, he's my favorite Imperial and the figure looks great, but all in all, he's not the most exciting character you could anticipate a figure of. Has no bearing on the figure quality, just Piett doesn't capture the same excitement as say a Han Solo, though maybe for someone he does, we all have our random character we love a lot that no one understands. I'm sure my love for Jabba the Hutt gets a head scratch or two :lol

NEVER! Who doesn't love a giant slug! :rotfl

P.S., Thanks for the pics of Piett Wor-Gar, I think he'll look great standing between 2 stormtroopers on my shelf...at least until we get more of the military from the Empire side! :rock

I still veer to TARKIN as my favorite Imperial. Piett is kind of a shadow image of him for "Empire".

But at least Piett has a hat and black gloves to differentiate him once Tarkin shows up.

Seeing Piett shows me exactly what Tarkin will look like in hand short of the sculpt.

A New Hope got the least ammount of viewings from me as a kid, so growing up mainly on Empire and Jedi, I think that's why I favor Piett more. Tarkin's a really cool character and Cushing has a lot of character in his face like Guinness, I just found ANH to be dull as a kid compared to Empire and Jedi, in my adult years I've come to enjoy and appreciate it more.

We just need Tarkin and Veers now right? Tarkin is a guarantee, a no-brainer. Veers?? A bit more iffy, he really is a very peripheral character. We'll see how Sideshow plays this one out . . .

ANH suffers necessarily from being a linear story, while ESB and ROTJ benefit from being able to break up the character stories and have constant intercutting to get to just the good parts and keep things moving. I find I can watch ESB more often because it's 'busy' where I get tired of the desert stuff in ANH. But there's nothing like that first Star Wars.

Not any moreso than Praji and we got him. I'd say Veers is very possible.

The real question is: where will the Imperials end?

For me, it's also the visuals. ESB with the asteroid field, Dagobah and even some parts of Bespin, mainly the duel areas, and even Hoth, just felt more Alien and different, and Jedi, Jabba's palace was enough, and there was more adventure in space itself with the long end battle. What I love most in Star Wars are the things that are totally unlike our own world. Between budget and story, ANH is the closest of all the Star Wars movies to feeling very much like our own world. The environments aren't overly alien looking, particularly before the updates, there weren't as many creatures/aliens, lots of humans and lots of simple design sets. Empire and Jedi felt more like being in a galaxy far, far away for me, and the PT pushed that further.

With the line. They're not rolling out too fast, we're getting like 1 a year.

Tarkin
Ozzel
Veers
Needa
ROTS Tarkin

You've got 5 years worth of named Imperials you could make, not to mention all the guys at the table in ANH, the one on Tantive IV that's walking with Vader before they reach Praji.

I imagine we'll get Tarkin, then Veers, then Ozzel, then Needa, maybe ROTS Tarkin, then others, hopefully we get the more prominent ones before more background ones, if it stays around like 1 a year, if they do a couple at a time they can do one prominent one background.

That's fairly optimistic.

I could see Veers because of the battle outfit in the walker.

Ozzel I doubt. Needa no way, too close to Piett (at this scale they'll look the same).

Well, I just figure, if they'd make Praji, then anyone's really got a chance, I mean why him, the guy that walks with Vader would make better display options because you could have him walking along with Vader in the shelf and all, probably better images to get reference for a sculpt, yet they did Praji, so I think anyone's got a chance. At this point, I think Tarkin's the only one with certainty.

Not sure why Praji, you make a good point. But all the ones you mentioned have green uniforms. Too similar. SS wanted a black uniform officer so they took Praji over the other guy or the guy at the end with Vader or the guy who says "TK421, why aren't you at your post". Why? Who can say. But I don't expect another black Imperial officer to come along. With Tarkin a given and Piett done, I doubt they'll do yet another green suitted Imperial unless it's Veers in the added battle gear. That's the perfect way to resell a green Imperial.

I'd be surprised if they made many more, I don't think there is enough demand, but surely they could if they wanted.

Wonder if they'll try to get Veers and Donovan out of one head.

From what Klauder said, Praji was the first Imperial Officer we saw in Star Wars. So it was only fitting that he was the first Officer released by Sideshow. It was in Praji's backstage pass:

Technically he's one of the first, the guy's that are debating firing on the escape pod, but you really can't see who you're looking at. The first one you really get a look at is the one walking with Vader. Neither of the voices talking about the pod really sound like Praji either.

Still, if they'd make a guy because he was the first, then sure some of the others have as good a reason as any to be made also.

Not sure if I'd spring for the whole table of them though. Tarkin definitely, and maybe that douche who backtalked Vader during the meeting, but that's about it from ANH.

A few more, slightly posed.

To me, that is the beauty of Sideshow. Everyone really got a chance.:)

Thanks for the pics man! Just wondering, did yours not come with the code cylinders to put in his pockets?

Let me say first off that he looks like a nice enough figure overall.

I'm not really that into the imperials and until fairly recently didn't know any of the officers by name, so I haven't been following this figure that closely. But I will say that until I saw this picture I had NO earthly idea that this figure was supposed to be of this actor. Maybe a repaint will help, but at this point I'm not sure how people can praise this sculpt for its likeness.
