Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I liked Triplett too, but this season he has been nothing more than background character. Once he got locked in the chamber I figured he was a goner.

I thought it was a decent mid season finale, but also a little anti-climatic. Didn't care for the way Whitehall was killed. Skye shooting Ward was awesome, but she left the job unfinished. The pairing of Ward and May-clone seems a bit forced to me. Who was the guy with no eyes at the end? I am unfamiliar with the Inhumans outside of Black Bolt and Medusa.

I agree and feel the exact same way about everything you just said.

Now, worst thing about Tripplett's death is that if he had done nothing, he would still be alive. Not to mention that he died thinking that he failed saving Sky. So sad. :monkey2

Thoughts on this episode:

I'm really sad
Tripp died. He was a great actor and a great character, when they used him. I can only assume the actor didn't want to be committed to a series full time because otherwise it just seems odd the way they've treated Tripp.

It's cool that Skye was revealed as Daisy (making Kyle Mclachlan Mr. Hyde. He said his name was "Cal" so that fits) and got powers. It was a pretty cool moment. It looks like Raina underwent one of the more extreme metamorphoses that can be a side effect of becoming Inhuman. I thought it was cool the crystal released an actual mist.
I will say, I found the design of the city a bit disappointing. I was hoping we'd see some cool architecture down there.

I enjoyed how Whitehall died. :D Or did he actually die?!? Dun dun duuuuuun! :panic:

Sorry to see Tripp die. :( I was hoping it would be Raina that died in the chamber. She has become an annoyance to me. :lol

You're assuming he died. We may simply not understand his transformation yet. He may be invisible or non-corporeal or interdimensional. Perhaps he teleports.

That was awesome and totally a lead up to the inhumans. That explosion inside the chamber was the release of the terrigen mist. Because raina and Skye are descendants of inhumans, they were cocooned where they underwent a metamorphosis and tripplet didn't. So awesome.

Didn't Trip get hit by the obolus when he tried to kick it and it exploded and turned him into ash like everyone else does, and not the mist? Also isnt the Inhuman movie in like 2019, hardly leading up to it.

Yeah, what I meant by that was that he wasn't affected by the terragin mist like skye and raina was because he's an ordinary human. He was killed by the shrapnel from the exploding Crystal which rockified him. This may not lead directly into the inhumans but it's fact that inhumans and all that come with them have now been introduced into the marvel universe

May not be "leading up to it", but it definitely set the groundwork for it... tomato...tomato....

Hmmm, that doesn't work too well when used in type. :lol

Why did Mack transform and turn evil in the chamber but everyone else didn't? I must've missed something last week.

I know with the first group, they said thebsuits should make it so they were undetectable to the city. I know when Mac landed, he wasn't affected right away so maybe there were traps they had to activate and they simply missed them? Or maybe the city was distracted by raina running around in the tunnels with the diviner?

Mac touched a circle on the floor and the whole floor lit up, then he started to transform into some sort of guardian for the city (last week).

I know, hence in my original post I said "Or did he?!?" :lol I think he's still alive.

Because now Agent Carter will air from January to March.

:yess: I can't wait!

JESUS CHRIST.

QUAKE.

DAISY ****ING JOHNSON.

Alright, this mid season finale was way too much to handle. So turns out the Obelisk was just a container for the Terrigen Crystals. I was definitely on the edge of my seat that whole time the obelisk opened and saw the Terrigen crystals. Like, I can't comprehend that we witnessed Terrigen Crystals turning into Terrigen Mists and the birth of two Inhumans on this show. I liked the new "cocoons" we got instead of literal green glowing cocoons we get in the comics. I thought they would save Terrigenesis transformations for the movies. The world building in this show is just fantastic this season and now i'm even more psyched for the Inhumans movie. I totally knew when they played that "Daisy, Daisy" song that Skye might be Daisy Johnson. And it was all but confirmed when her dad called her that name. We have Quake and Mr. Hyde, now. It was so cool somewhat seeing her powers. I so cannot wait to see the rest of this season and the tie in to Age of Ultron. Fantastic episode.

I'm not familiar with the Inhumans so I have to read up on that. I heard the "Daisy" name drop but did they say "Calvin Zabo" at one point (if so, when?) or was it just 2 and 2 together after revealing Skye's identity? Also, does Raina have another name as well or is "Raina" the name of one of the Inhumans?

It just laid the groundwork. The Inhumans play a huge part in a couple stories later on
