Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Decent episode. Although I don't know how the action dude drove the car or did much of anything without his arms and hands being within his own field of view that'd give away that he was not the black girl.
That's a really good point.. :monkey4 :lol

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Episode 4 was great, but I was really hoping those red mask wearing people in the beginning would be tied to the Red Skull, like a modern day flash mob HYDRA! :D

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I like how the red mask guys were absolutely nothing of consequence. Good distraction.

I'd like to see Hydra in this series. It would be a good vehicle to introduce Strucker.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

They have to bring in Strucker. He is so engrained into the whole SHIELD story. I would also like to see it lean just a little more into the espionage like the comic. I know they changed the name to get more into super humans but the spy game played such an important part to the legend of SHIELD. Also would like to see Dum Dum Duggan and some other well known SHIELD Agents get cameo's.

The Infinity Formula is one of those things that (barely) works on the comic page, not so well on the screen. Also if the audience watching Agents of SHIELD learns there's an injection for keeping people young it starts a long list of questions - including where is Agent Carter?

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

It is just hard for me to see Nick Fury without Dum Dum. Been reading comics for thrity years, always loved their interaction. Would not mind to see some modern versions of older characters like Agent Sitwell and Agent Quartermain.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Sitwell is already in the MCU:

They should have had him in gloves, maybe even an oversized version of her leather jacket.

The height difference would have been a tip off for anyone paying attention, I think. The camera angle to the ground and all other objects should have been noticeably different. I suppose he could have walked like a hunchback to compensate.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Guess he didn't use any of the car mirrors while he was driving either.

Wow! Just wow! You people are so silly. Again, this isn't reality TV (which from what I hear isn't really reality TV either, really?! Yes, Really!), or Breaking Bad, which is gives us the feel of a real-world setting. Which also had its flaws.

Your logic is flawed, and here's why...

You can suspend disbelief for a hovering harrier in the sky, super heroes, and the tech, but when it comes to a field agent who has the ability to ignore things like mirrors, that's hard to go with, and yes, Lola... that car is so campy. Because a man that transforms into a green beast 20 x the normal size of his regular self, is not the least bit campy... Eeesh.... A Norse God that spins a hammer, and of course, there is Captain America, that wears tights and carries around a shield as his sole weapon. Also amazing how his shield and strength can defend him from a God's attack.

But mirrors and Lola we have to focus on. Oh my God, how did he not focus on the mirrors or his hands, I can't believe this. It's so phoney baloney. I won't deny my brain went there as well, but I also refocused on what I was watching. Brain has to be off, because a lot of stuff that's going on would not be possible in the real world.

If you think a 62 Corvette is campy, you should see a 58 Corvette.
Lola could use a detail. I see a lot of scratches, and the color isn't quite what it could be.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Oh relax. I'm not even one of the haters. I was having a 'fun' poke.

I am relaxed... People really need to see the person behind the computer before they make the accusation... but when I see stuff like that brought up (and you aren't the only one)... It's a bit of a head scratcher. It would be hard to tell on here, but I had a sarcastic tone. I am very relaxed. This kind of stuff doesn't spoil my day. Breaking a 400 dollar premium format after a night of drinking, is stress. Dealing with the loss of a father and grandmother in the past seven months, can be stressful. I am very much relaxed on this. I was merely poking fun at those who come with these so-called arguments that the show is flawed for the above reasoning. In the end, I don't really care... seems like I do, but I don't. I just love yammering for the sake of yammering. Thus, the "STFU Eli" comment was born.

Unless you're being sarcastic back... fighting sarcasm with sarcasm. So that's how it is...

I will be honest (because I was lying this whole time, heh), this show isn't exactly appealing to me as I had hoped. I am giving it a chance, and hoping some things pick up. I do know Joss Whedon shows tend to gain momentum as they continue on. I hope the trend continues with this series, because with no more Breaking Bad and Futurama episodes, I am finding myself bored of TV. I do like Orange is the New Black, but we're still months off from seeing anything new. Same goes for True Blood, which is seriously getting to the point, where it's about to lose me as a viewer. So I need this show to live up to the hype and our expectations.

If not... I'll take up knitting.... yes.... :panic:

Nothing silly or flawed about that logic, superheroes, when well written, don't even break the laws of physics... Between that and the fact that they don't exist in our world, it's a lot easier to suspend belief for superheroes or super-stuff than when something as little as a detail occurs and we know the logical consequences in the real world and the consequences on-screen are different from that.

Maybe the hands/mirror thing is a nitpick, I did think about it but it didn't bother me, just explaining why the logic is valid.

I disagree with the logic being valid. Especially when it is much more believable to think a person who is highly trained, can ignore his hands and looking away from mirrors. In the end, he slipped up anyway, because he's human, after all? But I especially think the logic is skewed when it involves a world with things that do defy physics. I don't care how written something is.... it doesn't defy physics.

Someone can write the crap out of a handkerchief having the ability of human thought and expression, but it doesn't take away from the fact it defies all sorts of things...

Your problem is you believe that these heroes exist. Time to set you up with a straight jacket. Into the padded room you go!

hehe
