So I'm a little confused. I've so far been collecting the complete Trek sets, and I see there were two at SDCC...TMP and 7 of 9. Will there be a site release? Or should I bite on eBay?

Got back from SDCC earlier this evening.

Saw Stan Lee signing the first 20 or so Moss variants. He was at the booth for what seemed like less than 5 minutes. Signed a few, did the photo op with Ishmael and security whisked him off. By the time I knew what was going on the line was already snaking around the building. That booth was madness the first day or so.

Stan Lee only signed one set of posters. I imagine they were Mondo's copies. We were maybe 10-15th in line and didn't get his signature.

I got an AP of this coming now!

Kind of bittersweet for me to finally snag the Stout Star Wars set. I bit the bullet and paid out the nose for them at their booth. I still think it's ____ty of them to charge double the original price once they're sold out.

They could have just not sold them at all. At least they priced them below the going rate on ebay.

My problem with them is that I snagged them fair and square on the website, but because I ordered a set of 3 and the individuals they canceled my order altogether.

I didn't need two sets, I just didn't want to get the set of 3 and have them cancel it because it oversold like the Moss set. They should've just canceled the one part of my order, but instead they assumed I was a flipper and canceled my order altogether. They never responded to my email inquiries about the issue, either.

I see your frustration, but Mondo has made it a policy to cancel all double orders to battle against flippers trying to get more than one copy and shutting out other buyers that want the posters to hang or add to their collections. This not only keeps people from buying more than one print with the same account. But because they will cancel every order associated with that account it acts as a deterrent to keep people from even trying.

I mean they have better things to do that to go through all of the orders and look for people attempting for multiples. Then (although im sure its not a huge issue) they have to deal with the extras left over from the canceled orders.

So no matter what your intentions were they have a policy and they have to stick with it. I mean no one knows why you really ordered a set then 3 individual prints. You can claim it was o you wouldnt get shut out. but we arent mind readers and cant tell the difference between a fan that wants the prints to collect or someone who is buying just to resell.

So in short just follow the rules, Mondo has had very few oversells !! The chances of another oversell happening is much lower than the chances of your order being canceled for trying to get more than 1 copy.

But nobody is getting anywhere near that booth. This whole approach sounds like something conceived by someone who has never done this before. Justin sounds like he actually expects to just see a few people hanging around chatting about comics and nobody else stopping by until they get a Tweet. This is Comic Con. People will line up outside the doors at 4 AM, head straight for the booth and crowd around it until they get something. The neighbors will complain. Security will escort people away. Business as usual.

Actually, the Mondo booth wasn't really packed much during the entire SDCC. Anytime I got a tweet I'd walk over to the booth. The most I ever saw at one time was probably 25-30 people.

I checked every day to see what was new, but in the end was only interested in the Cap/Red Skull prints by Tan and got 2 sets (1 for me and 1 for a friend who couldn't attend).

You must not have been around for the Moss set, then. That line broke into two sections and wrapped around the corner all the way to the back wall.

Still, aside from that, you're right; It wasn't super busy. I passed up on the chance to just stroll right up and buy the Danger ST:TMP print 7 or 8 times over the course of 3 days. The Cowboys and Aliens print was easy to come by and the wood POTA variants took a couple days to sell through.

I placed a double order once with the Iron Man 2 prints. I just emailed them immediately to let them know I didn't intend to order two and one order got canceled. Don't know why they didn't do the same for you. I don't know if you emailed them before or after they canceled your order though. That may have made a difference.

They didnt always used to cancel orders.. In the good old days Ive bought two and three posters in separate orders from them. then they got to the point where they stopped allowing that and just canceled any additional orders now they probably get so many people trying that they just flat out cancel all orders to try and keep people from even attempting to get more than one.

In the good old days, some prints didn't even have a purchasing limit or you could buy up to two of each version. I think if you email them right away on a double order, they will know it was a mistake and not planned. If you don't say anything, they will probably assume you meant to do it. On Iron man, I didn't know my first order went through, so I placed a second. Once I saw my email that the first had gone through, I emailed them to let them know I didn't mean to do it.

Man, I really love these posters, but I hate the company with a passion. Hate it that the people at the Mondo Booth at SDCC lied directly to my face regarding the Cap prints. I hate myself even more because I know I'll buy from them again. LoL Those M v A poster look awesome BTW.

Interesting thing about the Danger print; It looks better on screen than it does in person. I mean, it's fine, if you like the design you'll like the print, but the RGB-iness of the JPEG makes everything crisper, brighter and easier to see. I found it to be fairly drab in person.

Whalen rocked it, though. That's a fantastic layout (even if he felt the need to substitute Alanis Morissette for Oliva Wilde). ;)

I have to get the Whalen to keep the collection going.

This was given to all of the attendees at the Sideshow dinner...it will be on sale through Sideshow in the future.

If it was already posted, my bad.:monkey1

I also have to get this to keep the collection going.

Well, I get back from a week in the mountains and see that Mondo was kind enough to hold off on the release of Whalen's C&A poster until I got home. I shall show my appreciation by giving them some more of my money.
