Damn ups! They have to be the worst. Good thing your the receiver and not the sender or they would just give you the run around.

hi Guys.....I have a total noob question as i am a total noob when it comes to art prints.
I am really considering ordering the Super-Powers mondo print because i think it would go good with the upcoming DC PFs by sideshow.
Where do you guys go to get your prints framed and what does it mean to get it matted... is it necessary to do with these prints?

thanks

I get mine framed at hobby lobby. I get a good frame thats on sale and then get the best glass and extras to make sure the print is fine once framed. Matting I've only done I think on one print otherwise I do skip that particular option.

Most of the time, I get a frame at Michaels or Aaron Brothers. They have 40-50% off coupons every other week or so, and you can get a frame without spending a ton of money. With a 24x36, you are at a pretty large size, and getting an even larger frame and a custom mat will start to get more expensive. I have never had a mat cut for a 24x36 print. I just don't typically spend four times as much on framing as I did on the art itself. But some people spare no expense on their framing. It's a personal choice. I think that if you go too far in your framing choices, it can be a distraction. I always prefer a simple black frame that keeps the focus on the art.

If you have a very valuable Mondo print, and you want to protect it over time, don't allow it to come into contact with the surface of the glass. That is when you would want to use a mat or spacers--to protect the ink from sticking to the glass depending on your environment/humidity, etc.

Thanks for the responses and help....appreciate it.

I wish with my Nightmare on Elm poster I got that Robert Englund would go to the Austin Con (he's going to Dragon Con) so I could get him to sign it. That would be sweet. There hasn't been much in the way of stuff I've wanted since. But it's only been a few weeks. We shall see what's to come.

I'm telling you. You need to fly out to Atlanta and we would tear up Dragon-Con!!! :rock :rock :rock

That was my Alamo Bride of Frankenstein print. Thankfully it was undamaged, don't ask me how.

Good thing about the Mondo prints is that they pack them with the print almost in the middle of the tube, so the top and bottom of the tube is relatively doesn't have much poster in it. The middle, on the other hand, is where the poster is and where my dent is :monkey2

I'm sorry to hear that man. I hope you can get it resolved. :(

Just called SS Customer Service and they are going to send me a replacement. They want me to try to get the poster out, if it rips, they will send me a new one, but I guess they need pics of what the poster looks like out of the tube :huh Win-Win for me, so I suppose I shouldn't complain :lol

What is the preferred method for flattening rolled posters??

They've been laying flat for the past week with heavy books on the corners, but they still curl up.

just got my stout cap variant. damn i thought i'd only like the regular because of the colors, but seeing the variant in person...it is just as awesome.

I use a cardboard sleeve. I have a number laying in them now and they are flattening quite nicely.

e.g. a big cardboard box flattened. slip them in and clip the open ends. Works for me :)

Cool. So sell me your regular :hi5:
