I guess he's talking about this:

Thanks WG and Spidey, checked it out and you can pre-order the EB special @ JHL BUT I'm not sure that is a realistic price. Sounds more like PL withOUT Rip. They sell the HT Endo for 128 so... not sure. If it's too good to be true... best to email them to confirm price first and figure shipping to US is at least $50-60. I doubt we'll see the combo sold in US because it's a Blister Direct item BUT TS will carry them I'm sure and yes, it does say July 07 sched release, we won't get ours until Jan/Feb 08 I'm guessing, we'll see...

...But I'm afraid of the material breaking down over time. ...

Can you imagine if a year or two from now the HT "rubber" figures start drying out and cracking?

HT is all the rage right now...but if that were to happen to the Aliens and Predators and Rockys and Rambos, can't you just hear the rants against them here? It will be deafening.

I hope the "rubber" is polyurethane. I'm under the impression that material lasts much longer. Anyway, only time will tell. But its kinda scary.

I'm using armorall wipes on my HT rubber stuff... mostly after display prior to reboxing for another time...

I'll also definitely shine/slime up my bugs for display

That's probably a good idea. Also, there must be some recommended way to treat/protect "rubber". A bottle of whatever that might be is worth investing in.

But ArmorAll will definitely give you that shiny-slimy look to the aliens. Good call.

I would hope that for their cost, the HT rubber figures are made with a material that should endure the best it can over time, and I think if you keep the figures in proper areas and don't expose them to elements like moist locations and places like that, they should hold up, at least until we're too old and loopy to care :) I like that the instructions Rambo comes with tell you things not to do also to protect the rubber from damage.

If these are like Hot Toy's first rubber bodies, they won't dry out or crack, but start to turn to mush in a few years. I do own one of these first muscle bodies they made and mine has yet to start breaking down (knocks on wood).
If this happens there'll be war declared on HT.
good idea on the Armor All wipes. Might have to try that out.
I once had a kick ass Creature from the Black Lagoon rubber Halloween mask as a kid. Until one day I found it in my closet crumbling to pieces. Wish I knew of the Armor All trick back then.

Here's a couple of quick shots of Ripley, who arrived on Friday; I'm in the midst of rearranging my sixth scale collection so I'm lacking a suitable background at the moment:

I can't wait to get my Ripley! Should be here soon, I hope. Judging from your pix, metaphorge, the likeness could be better though... I still don't understand why they chose to make her hair lighter. Doesn't she look more like Ripley with the darker hair (see pic in post n°1 of this thread)?

It has to do with licensing issues using an actor's likeness so they don't have to pay them royalties. Shouldn't be too hard to repaint her hair and eyes the correct shade to look like Sigourney.

Wow, I have to say she looks a lot better than I thought she would! Can't wait to get this piece... anyone know when Alterego will be shipping these?

Query: do the lips appear too lipstick-y? It's hard to judge from the photos, but I'm contemplating repainting them to a more natural color if that were the case.

Ripley looks great!
She looks better than I was expecting, I'm sure a little repaint will bring out a lot of the likeness.

A repaint might help, but it's hard to tell, the HT Ripley looks to soft and feminine, Sigourney has a defined face.

I have been wondering the same thing.... I got my extra Hudson and Ripley from them...

Yep, we've been saying this since last April right abake? The sculpt is there and the new blister pics bear that out.

I think she's gonna turn out great.
