It's staggering the amount of strategic planning we put into posing our figures. We are like military tacticians... for toys. :lol

Since you asked earlier on the thread, Jedi-Gar, I plan on three Rip poses

1) Bomber Jacket Rip for the Marines and quieter moments with Dwayne learning how to use a pulse rifle

2) Egg Chamber "ICONIC" Rip

3) "Get away from her you bee-otch" PL Rip

You do kind of need 3 to get all her looks.

I only have 2 Ripleys, one reg and one PL, so I have to choose 2 of the three looks... and it looks like the most iconic style is not possible for me, unless I want to dump the A-2 jacket I just bought and the blue coat that comes with Ripley.

I will be rotating Rips for display so Iconic Rip and PL Rip will be one and the same, hopefully with a swapped FML Rip repaint if he can get to her sometime in the near future. His Ellen repaint is amazing, I would want her a bit more determined though for the PL and Iconic Rip poses, she's PERFECT for the Bomber jacket Rip though!

And here are those 3 Ripley looks:

The "iconic" into-the-hive pose would be my first choice... but given the gloved hands and the jointed arms of the figure, I think she'll look better on display with the A-2 jacket. The combo flame-thrower-pulse riflle aren't screen specific but... I'll live with it.

Maybe one day they'll make a "rubber body" for females like they do for Rocky, then I'll swap out Ripley and Vasquez' bodies.

Yep, that's them al right, thanks dude.

And thanks for the strap ref WG, EASY PEASY! Gonna make it this weekend, borrow a shell or two from one of the boys, I'm sure they won't mind! :lol

Anybody plan on repainting Drake with the albino hair? Anybody plan on giving him the acid burned face?

I need to have all my Marines and Ripley repainted. Yes, albino hair...but no on burned face. That's how he died so it won't really work for the figure in a fighting stance.

I'm curious to see the "muscular body" though -- it will be my first. Very curious to see the actual material in hand. I hope I don't bust the metal wire in his arm while I'm posing him.

It's probably like the Rocky and Rambo figures which are prone to splitting and cracking from stretching. My Rambo has cracking under the armpits which I'm guessing was caused when I posed him holding his bow at arms length while his other arm was pulled back drawing the arrow. I also noticed some splitting around the shoulder of my Rocky and I've only had him for 2 months!

I was thinking about posing Drake mawing down an Alien warrior and having the acid burns. I cannot think of a cooler way to display him.

Metal wire in his arm? I thought the muscular bodies were just rubber suits over the standard HT body?

That's bad news. Guess I'll have to be careful with this guy. But if I get "splits" anywhere, I'll just add "blood" and make it look like an action wound. :)

In which case, the acid burn might tie it all in nicely.

It's just a matter of caution WG, you can pose the muscular bodies in various ways without doing damage (I have both Rambos) but I would say as far as displaying goes, the simplere you pose it for long term, probably the best for avoiding cracking, I don't have my Rambos on display but when I did have em out I just had the 1 standing with weapons in hand but a simple pose, maybe that's the trick with those bodies, you can pose them a lot for short term, but simpler poses work best long term.

Man. I'm having a helluva time tryin' to keep up with all you guys! Part of the problem is when everyone's discussing everything, I'm sound asleep! So I'm always playing catch up and miss out on all the great discussions! Oh well...

Probably too late now, but a hair dryer is an easy way to get the boots off the Marines (and most other figs), and you don't have to get their feet wet! It also makes it easier to tie their boots more snug around their ankles before you put on the leg armor, for a better fit. (Just be careful when you tighten the laces so you don't rip them out accidentally!)

I went a little nuts last year when the Marines first came out and bought two of each... so now I've got plenty of grenades, etc. to use for customizing, but it would be pretty easy to make a simple silicon mold and cast as many as you need out of putty or resin, too. Either way, having extra parts is always a good thing. Now, I'm sure I've got an A-2 jacket somewhere that I can "liberate" from one of my pilot figures... Thanks for all the great ideas, guys! :D

Brilliant!!!

Is that the jacket the boxed Ripley comes with? I read it here before that she comes with a jacket, so is that the one?

From what everyone was talking about earlier, I think this is an A-2 jacket from another line (DML?). I'm assuming the jacket she comes with is the matching top to her flight suit...the one she takes off before gearing up to go rescue Newt...but I could be wrong! I'm still waiting for Ripps to arrive, so maybe someone else can confirm this. :D

See, that's exactly what I thought too. To be honest, that thin blue top thing is not thrilling... Not a reason to keep the boxed Ripley. A jacket like the one on the picture on the contrary... that would rock! And yes, the weapons/motion tracker of course are badass too.

you wouldn't happen to have a hicks figure that you're willing to sell then would you?? I need one so badly!

So how impossible will it be to find a Hot Toys Navy SEAL in Vietnam Stoner Machine Gunner head to use as a better Hicks at this point?

Was anyone selling casts or are there any 1:6 places selling Hot Toy figs as parts?
Thanks!

Hudson seems to come with a slightly altered "Stoner" HS, so you can just switch heads and use that sculpt as Hicks. That's what I'm going to do. After a repaint, of course.

This may be repetitive, but....since I see some confusion:

YES!

ALERT ALERT ALERT ALL HOT TOYS ALIENS COLLECTORS!!!!

A great gift has been bequeathed to you all by Hot Toys!

If you are all about revamping your heads on your sets...
HUDSON COMES WITH SAID STONER HEAD FOR HICKS CONVERSION!

And, with an upcoming Frontline Hudson head replacement due any time now....just get one, and switch it out with the "STONER" head that comes with Hudson, then, move the badly painted Hudson "STONER" to your Hicks (repaint needed again most likey as Hicks...), and remove the "REESE" Hicks head to the side, or... use it for...a custom "modern" Reese!

Three for one! Not a bad thing eh?!?!?

Anyway, I see too many folks unsure about this, Just had to state it plainly.
Hope that helps. :D

Oh, and that leather jacket is indeed a seperate DRAGON A2 Jacket, acquired online, and added to the Hot Toys Ripley. IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE HT Ripley. Sadly. The only jacket she comes with is the blue top that matches the pants.
