Just remembered something...if you don't have the arm sleeves for Vas yet, War-Toys has Cheong figures back in stock now. (I just grabbed one for Vas and one for Sarah.) They also have a combat knife and sheath that looks pretty close to what Hicks had in the movie, for only .45 cents. Much better than the M9 at least! :D

No, I didn't have Vaz or Apone. I passed originally but now I want to complete my set. I need the Cheong sleeves but been waiting for them to part them out. Don't want to buy the whole figure. Now I just gotta get Apone and Lonnie's FL head for him.

Hey gang,
I've got a few options open to snagging a Hicks figure, and I was wondering, what's the consensus on the best head for Hicks?

Hudson or Viet Nam Stoner. They are pretty much the same head.

Maulfan, since I already have Les' Hudson head I will have the original head laying around. If you want it you can have it, I should be getting it sometime next week.

Thanks for the offer ill. Has anyone ever used the Frontline Hicks head, it looks pretty good, I can't tell too well with the HT paint job how well the Hudson head might look like Biehn, and I haven't seen the stoner head recently, if anyone has useful pictures of them I'd appreciate it, or could give feedback on the frontline sculpt.

The Cheong sleeves might be too big for Sarah, at least that's what pjam thinks. I'm thinking of transplanting Sarah onto a Cy-girls body that has rubber bendy arms.

Man, not only do I score a Vasquez but War-Toys has Cheong parted out arms and all! I hit the jackpot today! Patience pays off in spades!

Thanks for the pic Ill, and I remember seeing that figure, couldn't remember what head it was, but I remember, the detail for arm hair painted on is amazing. Now if I could find an image of someone repainting the Hudson head to be Hicks I could make a good comparison.

Les is repainting my Hudson head now. I'll post pics when he's done.

Thanks Dave. It seems like no one has used the Frontline head, I wonder why, the sculpting looks very nice.

While the FL head does look like Biehn, my problem is the sculpt. It looks sculpted. Les had some concerns about the Hudson head being made of a more flexible rubber than the vinyl Stoner but I have no doubt he can make it work so I'm not too worried about it.

I know that Mikey did several outstanding repaints of the Frontline head. I even did a very bad repaint of that one myself. :lol

I like the Stoner sculpt better myself. The Hudson head is the same, but flexible and a bit harder to paint... as Dave said.

Still, IMO the best sculpt of Hicks out there....:rock

Well, I'd certainly place high value on your opinion. I can't seem to find the stoner head available anywhere though, so I'll probably get the Frontline cuz it sounds like the Hudson head isn't the easiest to work with.

Since I don't have Hudson in my hands as of yet, I'll ask you all. Is Hudson's helmet the same as Hicks', underneath the helmet cover? I've been wondering this and hoping it is as I'll have to paint the camo pattern otherwise.

Indeed it is. Exactly the same.

And here's a shot of the back of Hicks armor, and a little known bit of grafitti. This set was painted and built by the same guy who did the armor for the film for this private collector....
