Yup, thats Frost all right. Repainted by Les, and the shirt from Dboz, and you have a custom Frost.

That's kind of what I was thinking. In the meantime, I am definitely doing a custom Frost with the parts I have gotten. I have pretty much everything except the shin armor and the weapons. Of course Apone's armor is going to need a little customizing.

Hmmm, that is very interesting... here's my repainted HT Apone (not by me, of course):

I think he does look like Al MAtthews, just a bit younger.
The sideburns and goatee on the HT sculpt were just painted on, the moustache is sculpted.

The repaint looks much better but I don't really think that HS looks like Apone at all. The FL HS is the closest I've seen.

Good call on the hidden Frost head sculpt! It really does look much more like him than Apone. Frost's gear and weapons should be easy to put together from all the leftovers scavenged off of the other marines. (Drake doesn't need the pistol & holster, pouches, etc.). And Apone's armour just needs to be touched up and painted with Frost's grafitti. Sounds like a pretty quick and easy conversion except for the repaint, but we've got that covered too if FML will take care of it for us! Now... how about the rest of the squad???

I don't know what to think of the sculpt.
I have been wanting an Apone for a while, but figured I wouldn't go the distance and get one. SO, I haven't held the head. It does look more like Frost though.
But that repaint does capture Apone too. I think it's a skin shade, eye thing. Mustache too. General glare some. Give him more glare, and the stache, Apone. Softer look, slightly lighter, Frost.
But, I'd use the Frontline head for Apone over this as it is more iconic, the cigar...and use this for Frost.

I love that comment that if they make a Frost, they'll use an Apone head for it! Best line of the thread! No doubt HT does just that!

Depends on what you're planning to do. If you only want to remove the 'stache without ruining the existing paint, then you've got to take a different approach than if you're going to do a repaint, obviously. If you just want to prep it for a repaint, then it ought to be relatively easy. The original Apone head has a thinly sculpted moustache, so you'd just have to carefully cut and/or sand it off. Cutting would make the job go faster, but you just need to be careful not to cut too close to the surface. That probably shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Once you've removed most of the raised material, just smooth any remaining detail down to the surface with varying grades of sandpaper and you're good to go. That would be the simplest approach, in my opinion. Hope that helped.
