Thanks Les, I use Tamiya acrylics. I will try that sandpaper thing and see if it helps.
I don't use Tamiya acs for the very reason you mentioned, that flexible plastic. I like some use of them, but they dry out VERY fast when using, and because the pigment is coarser (larger micro particles of colorant in a different carrier formula) the paint doesn't work as well on toys. Great on styrene or metal models, lousy on plastic toys.
Try to find some Model Masters Acryls dude. You'll be glad you did. Any waterbased Testors
acrylic enamel will apply better. Not exactly sure why, but one answer may be the finer pigment material in it.
And thanks Mudshark about that Vas match. I hadn't even done that with my own Vas yet, and did it for Reiny, and sure enough, it solves so many facial things I didn't like about my own. Just be careful, like the above comments about paint adhering to plastics, no acrylic bonds to that HT rubber. I think it flakes some. I painted Vas' neck and she want's to shed. Since the neck is pretty much hidden, I told Reiny to keep her in uniform. If I can find a paint that will match the other and adhere to the rubber, we're in business. Just want to paint the rest in Acrylic enamels.
And those armsleeves are one part cool, and two parts pain. The two parts are, never fits just right, and the much mentioned elbow joint issues with folding.
Oh well, better than it was!
