As much as I'm loving the Tombstone stuff, I thought I'd let you guys know that I scored a MIB Sgt. Apone today at an LCS for a great price!! :rock

So, now I have Ripley, Hicks (Josh is working on him), Hudson arrived this week and Vasquez is on her way from the Godfather. Now all I need is Drake and my set will be complete! Then they will all be sent to Josh to be repainted and dirtied up!! :rock

Happy day!! :D

Happy day indeed! I'm still missing Hicks.:( Can't wait to see some pics after they get back from Josh.

Well, it's not THE Hicks, but I scored Hicks, Ripley and an Alien snap kit off eBay recently, they look like very well made figures so I'll be happy to have those, deffinately will share images after, and I get 3 eggs out of the deal too, which won't hurt.

Hey, I just realized the thread hit the 4000 mark! Sorry Wor-Gar!!! I was too busy pulling my foot out of my mouth to even notice... gomen nasai, ne. :monkey3

Things have gotten strangely quiet here again, which usually means only one thing. (heads for cover) :D

(I just hope it isn't a mushroom cloud the size of Nebraska!)

Those snap kits are pretty cool. I just picked up a few recently and they are amazingly well made for their size. I'm only missing Apone. Drake and Hicks are my favorites. I wish they'd make some of the other marines, especially Hudson and Vasquez. Bishop would be cool to have too. Btw, you may very well have THE Hicks before long...!

This just in...

Well that's just great! That's just f'n great!

I don't know if it's been done on the other FML Hudson heads, but I love the gloss for sweat running down his forehead, really adds realism to the piece.

Phenomenal WG, mine is very similar, love the expression, captures his character and personality and believe it or not he will actually pose great with the other Marines...

Oh I agree. He'll really stand out with this unique expression against the other "mean" marines.

:D

You know, something about the expression on the Chronos heads has been throwing me off a bit, and I think it's the way his cheeks are defined around the lips, they almost seem to have a Batman Joker smile curve to them, so just for fun I photoshopped the head a little and figured I'd share with you guys to see what you thought. Wor-Gar, if you have any issues with me borrowing your picture just let me know and I'll get rid of it.

Totally WG, can't wait to see him suited up with the others with that patent Paxton expression, it's gonna make your whole set pop.

Okay here is mine, as mentioned it is very similar to WG's but there are subtle differences, lighting is different in this pic but he has all the sweat!

I asked Les for a scared "Want more of this?" bug blasting Hudson... but it'll work great for tons of poses with Vas, Hicks, Rip, etc... even Bishop!

As far as his "cheeks" go, it is so small it doesn't bother me at all when you consider his entire head is the size of your thumb. I think Les did an AMAZING job with this resculpt and made alot of collectors extremely pumped and appreciative. I'd rather have bullet pumping distressed cheeks anyway, especially when the bugs arrive.

Anybody have any ref shots of Hudson's helmet? Isn't there an 8 ball somewhere?

I'll look on that props page...

I've scoured the props pages for a shot of the back of his helmet cover, but no pic so far, only a description. It can be seen in a few scenes near the beginning of the movie while Husdon's still wearing his helmet, tho. Maybe someone would be kind enough to grab a couple of screens for us? (Dek, you listening by any chance?) If I'm not mistaken I think there were a couple of good closeups when he was doing his (special edition) "badass" speech on the dropship. Might be a good place to start.

The 8 ball's on the left side toward the rear, partly covered by the strap keeping the helmet cover in place. Ya can't miss it! :D

Thanks Mudshark, asked because Josh is painting/detailing mine now...

Paging DekDave! Please HELP!!!

Hope this can help Josh out Paul...
Here is what I did with my Hudson helmet.

The 8 ball (I just paused the DVD on screen when I was painting mine, so I don't have a still of it...I think it shows up in the extended scenes with the hall guns when Hudson and Vas test fire it...look for a few frames in there somewhere...)

But here's what I saw enough to paint, it's on the lower back left of his helmet cover:

This is more contrasty than it really looks. All the written stuff on Hudson's helmet are faded looking, so it looks wrong if it's too bold.

Here is the upper left front (yeah, I got my hash marks diagonally backward. Dummy me! But once I had done one, I just went with it...what else could I do...it was paint...):
Hudhelm2.jpg

It's a grid marked into a 12 month calendar, with every month labeled and marked through, beginning with August and ending in July (When ALIENS happens in the timeline), and July is the only month not marked through yet.
"Man, four more weeks and I'm out!"

Here is a rough blowup of it from a B&W still I used for reference:
Hudhelm4.jpg

Just above and below the grid, are two longer bars, as long as the whole set, making it a box. Inside the upper bar it says, "Short Timer", and in the one below, "Game Over!". Neat that his saying is on his helmet. Note that you can barely see it, it is faded, and does have the exclamation point.

On the front right upper side, are the words "Brain Dead" and I couldn't see them, but they are reportedly there, so I just stacked them and made them look faded.

Best I can do. Maybe a set of frames can help further.
