Landron Artifacts
Just a little freaky
Once I began reading this thread I was absolutely terrified of the condition mine would be in when it would come in the mail. I was at work at the time and my wife took the liberty of unboxing and sending me pics to ease my nerves. I guess place me under the lucky column because mine is absolutely perfect. It's number 73 exclusive and a pre-order.
As a longtime Alien fan, I don't regret buying this in the least. I absolutely love it! Worth every penny in my opinion. The paint job looks about as I expected. I never expect anything to look exactly like the actual "hero" prototype, which was probably painted in a matter of several days by one person, on the other hand a production model would be painted quickly by several people in a matter of a few hours. The production model is quite good (at least mine is). Every time I walk into my man cave I just can't help looking at it and milk its beautiful sculptural detail.
As for the teeth, I'm not too bothered by them. Sure they could have plated them but would it be worth the extra expense? I used a little bit of silver rub n' buff and it does look a little better. The clear cowl I wish was just a little more glossy (though it still looked quite good). I took it upon myself to give it a thin coat of car wax. Easy tweak, and looks great.
I may be wrong, but I wonder if the serious defects/damage are as extensive as this thread would indicate. A natural human inclination is when you have a good experience you tell 5 people; when you have a bad experience you tell 50 and post it on the internet. If there is one production faux pas I can pinpoint that would have solved the issue of potentially broken tendons is they should have glued them at the corner of the jaw as well as where they are glued presently. The entire section is free floating and VERY easy to break off if not handled carefully. This is probably an easy preventative fix for those who own a non-broken one.
