WTF! What is all of that white stuff? With the white stuff, scratches, and chip in paint I'd contact Sideshow and get a replacement. The statue is awesome but that one has a lot of defects.

That's the flash of my phone camera, and the Polystyrene wrapping as I had just taken it out of the packaging, some has stuck to it, its easily cleaned off, not the best pictures lol. Its very glossy!

Ran across this on Google, from SDCC 2013.

Even the teeth on this one aren't that great...

Picking this up tomorrow, I should be excited but I'm not which is sad really as it shouldn't be like this when you buy something new. I remember when I used to get excited before picking something up but now it is more worry about what defects it's going to have instead.

Yeah, there was lots of discussion about them way back when so we knew all along they wouldn't be great. They are undoubtedly the one bad part on another wise excellent looking bust, just a shame they are a focal point.

I feel the same now. I've decided to give up on Sideshow until things change. Their QA is consistently bad and the huge difference between the prototype and actual product has sucked all of the fun out of the hobby.

As usual SS didn't dissapoint with their QC, I went through 4 of these before finding one which was acceptable. From broken tendons to gaps in the dome and glue all over the dome, the thing I don't understand is why they only covered half the bust with a plastic bag and left the one part which needs the most protection unprotected as the paint had rubbed off on the polystyrene and scuffed the dome. The one I finally got is almost perfect as there is a small part that looks like crazing on the inside of the dome on one side but it can only be seen under bright light and even then it's hard to see unless you know it's there.

All in in all I think I am pretty lucky but really it shouldn't be like a lottery every time you buy something from this company. I find myself steering further and further away from them with every purchase.

I don't think the polysterene is capable of scuffing the dome, I rubbed hard with no marks left.
The scuffed domes seems to be a factory issue before the lacquer had dried. Total incompetence.

I meant the paint on the tube parts under the dome (don't know what their called) had rubbed but I think your right about the dome as it looks like it was done before the lacquer was dry. Total incompetence like you say and shouldn't be happening.

Plus mine is covered in them..... on the underside of the dome. It's just rough and/or rushed handling I suspect. It was more annoying on the Warrior as that was actually a real nice paint app to begin with before it was butchered by whoever handled mine.

Very nice, congrats.
Almost looks like mine. Good paint and finish. Our domes are similar too, with the bottom part a tad dark.

PS - Why do u have that orange light next to it? What is it anyway, can u get a picture from farther away?

Thanks, it has a couple of little issues but overall it looks great imo! The orange light is just sticks with led lights on them, kind of ambient decoration I guess lol. Nothing to do with the statues. This is just a temp setup, I live and work in London at my girlfriends house, most of my collection is up North in my house!

OK I see now. At first it reminded me of a Stargate Wraith ZPM.
Good idea, think I'll use it myself :)

Are you also struggling NOT to quote zillion pics, especially when they ALREADY POSTED on the same freakin page????
You can do it! We have faith in you...

To be fair it's only four pictures that just about fill the screen of my phone.
Not too much scrolling involved here :D

It could be other reasons. The pics should be referenced from the same storage location, so it shouldn't be a bandwidth issue, but I've been to plenty of forums where people are sensitive about media they cannot stop from loading. Some ISPs in some regions have some crazy bandwidth limitations. If it's a matter of scrolling, then it's more a matter of etiquette specific to that site. I've been doing boards, chat rooms, messengers, etc, since the early '90s. Only since mobile blew up has that been an issue. My monitors, tablet and phone are all super high PPI, so it doesn't occur to me. If it's a problem for anyone, I'll def keep quotes to 0 pics or just the pics about which I'm speaking.

The issue has been brought up a couple of times in the Board Business section.
Problems occur when multiple people multi quote posts containing lots of pictures. I know my phone can struggle on some of those threads.

Personally just delete the pictures and quote the text, if any.

Congrats DjacK, looks like you struck lucky.
