Statue Alien: Big Chap Legendary Scale Bust

Well folks, my happy dance was a bit too soon... After seeing all the video reviews on youtube, I've realized that the dome on mine is way too dark and cloudy. Even under a strong light, you can barely see the front of the skull. Rest of the details are totally invisible.
Waiting for a return label. Don't even want to try for a regular.

I finally inspected mine today. I had 1-2 broken pieces. The lower left tendon which should wrap under the jaw is broken, and I have the piece. The middle tendon which should go to the upper jaw is either broken or just shorter than it should be. Someone else had posted theirs had the same problem... I just submitted it to Sideshow, to see what they say. It definitely could have been worse. I still need to clean it up. The foam left particles and white dust everywhere. I don't think the dome looks too bad. I should have taken a wider pic...

Hey Col,

The dome should have come with a sheet of padded foam covering it to protect it from scuffs and scratches. Mine came that way. I guess that wasn't placed on yours when it was packed.

There is no rush at this point as they will be all out of replacements anyway unless yours is broken in half.

I ask for full refund because of the background story. I got the mail to destroy it after that send pictures. Did someone already destroy it? Does someone have images of destroyed big chap? I have little problem to destroy it but I wont that SS get the credit if I keep it. Could someone help or should I destroy it? Doesn't need someone some pieces? This is awkward.

If you want a refund you need to take a picture of the number on your base then another of the bust in pieces, including the nameplate if you have the Ex.
Send them to Sideshow then your refund will be processed.

Not sure if you're asking to use pictures of someone elses destroyed piece
That ain't gonna work. Sideshow can send crap out but they aren't stupid.

Some people can do with photoshop quiet pro (yea not me). Bud yes SS can send crap and we can do some photoshop modification on crap which we send to the them back. I just considering all the possibility which I have .

I got a message from someone asking for help with the same thing. I explained I'm pretty sure it would be classed as fraud and/or obtaining property by deception and really isn't worth it, especially for a crappy flawed statue.

Destroy the bust if you want Sideshow to issue you a refund.

Regardless how you feel about Sideshow trying to defraud them, or any company, is unethical and fraudulent.

This board and it's owner, Darklord Dave, does not support such behavior.

I took a piece of the dome and rubbed it against the Polystyrene, quite vigorously, for a few minutes to the point where it got quite hot...
Not a mark!
Conclusion: Dome scuffs must of been a factory issue and not from transit.
With mine having polystyrene patterning it must of been packed before the lacquer was completely dry.

Mine had a plastic bag just covering the base.

So did mine. Im pointed this out in my video unboxing. I was surprised it wasn't covered five how much of a focal point it is and how easily it could be damaged.

Mine didn't? Just the standard half plastic bag here, I have bought cheap pieces of plastic from ebay that have arrived protected both sides, the dome on this clearly should have been. Should also have been better protected from Hellboy who clearly made mine.

Sorry to hear about your issues still Col. From what you've said, I think your conclusions are right about them laying it down when it wasn't fully dried which created the dull parts.

That sucks.

You look at one like Drakul's and it just screams beauty. I only wish you all could've gotten one like that.

I heard back from SS. They said they'll take back my EX and I can get a regular that will be inspected before shipping. Since mine can only be displayed from the right (and there's still a gap on that side) I'm going to take the chance with a regular. Since I know the beautiful ones exist, maybe I'll get lucky.

They should let you keep the nameplate. Then you basically have the exclusive, just with a different number...

I will re-inspect mine for scratches this weekend. I need to clean off all the dust and foam. Any recommendations for a product to "shine up the dome" without ruining it?
