Not really free though, since if I did buy direct from Sideshow to get an exclusive Jones, it would have cost me at least another hundred bucks on top of what I'm paying for the piece currently.

True, I was just thinking about an SS exclusive and an SS regular ordered directly from SS for the same price.

Exactly my point. An $800 statue should have one. Do you not think so or do you not like free stuff? :dunno

like fury said, hardly free. I only get exclusives if they really add to the piece. I'm paying $750 shipped for this through alterego. If SS had a ex for this, it would prolly be $10 extra, then you add the Ca sales tax for me, and that would be pushing $900+ shipped.

Are you guys saying that there is possibility that there might be an EX for this maquette??

These highend pieces shouldn't have an exclusive. They should have an es of no more than 750 and ALL parts included. Exclusives and variants are too gimmicky for high end pieces. IMO

Just ordered one of these after seeing the pics of guy painting it from many pages back. Will look good as a companion piece with my Cinemaquette Alien.

Now I have this and the Batmobile to decide on! Obviously I want both, but damn this is too much. I guess it would be smartest to get in on the Big Chap first though, there's no edition size on the 89 Batmobile..

I expect you guys to post lots of pics with flash to change the entire look of the paint job. So, we all can say FAIL and how bad it turned out. That way I will save $800. :D
;)

Yeah i happy they went with a standing pose,i'm not completely crazy about the arm pose but as a lot of times with these statues when you get it in hand it looks a lot better than the pics

Standing poses work best for Giger's Alien..but this one is just a joke. It doesn't look natural at all.

It looks like he's auditioning for Phantom of the Opera, and failing at it.

Overall, very goofy.

I remember someone photoshopped the arm into a different position, and it greatly improved the pose..but still, don't understand why they would pick a pose like this unless they're not familiar with the creature.
