Just finish wacthing Alien: Resurrection and I think it was not really that bad as most people say.

It's not as bad as most people say, it's worse.

Just joking. I thought the plot sounded great on paper, but the execution stunk.

It thought the dialogue was the worst thing so me on on paper it was already bad. Yes, I know Whedon said Fox forced changes upon his screenplay but he would and all writers do say that. Still that's absolutely no excuse why he should set it 200 yrs into the future and without The Company...all that was what made it too different from the previous films.

being a hardcore alien fan I'm probably biased and proudly admit that :lol.
I have to say I have always loved resurrection. The series should of definitely ended with alien 3 and in the long run its pissed off alot of fans because it didn't.... but , thats not up to us. Every time I watch resurrection , I don't expect anything and get to watch an decent movie. The reason I do like it is for a few reasons. With some of my fave actors in there , Ron Pearlman , Weaver and so on the acting is done well.
I have always enjoyed what ADI have done for the alien series ( and avp series ) effects and creatures wise and I do love the aliens in this movie.
Those who hate the movie shouldn't watch it. Those who do should.
If you hate it just imagine it ended with alien 3. As it should have.
I do think the ending left a great way to start alien 5 as well though.
The original cut of this movie is by far superior to the newer one. There were too many scenes that deprived from the plot , the bug scene at the begging was useless and unbelievably the sfx were terrible !.

The most memorable thing for me with A:R is the soundtrack , its fantastic. It was written by a mister Samuel Lerner if I'm not mistaken and to even listen to it without the movie is great. Seriously worth a pick up.
As well as this the swimming scene was great , I always loved my aliens cruising through the water!. :lol

I don't think it was a good sequelable ending at all. Now that Ripley was back home on Earth, where she always wanted to be, how would you get aliens there? Ripley's journey had ended - she had come home and the aliens were still deep in space and the army had just botched their ony chance at bagging anymore aliens on the Auriga as ther's no way Ripley would have let them clone her again.

Why do you think there hasnt been another sole alien film since 1997?

I like Resurrection. I think "aliens in space hallways" is boring at this point but I think it disginguishes itself in other ways. I like the Ripley clone, I like the shady crew of the Betty, I like the gags with the ricocheting bullets and the wheelchair gun, I think the scene w/ Winona Ryder wearing boxing gloves is absurdly hilarious...I guess the thing is I like the Alien movies, but I'm not passionate about them. I could see how someone who is in love with the series might hate the stylistic bi-polar disorder of the later movies.

Except it should have ended with ALIENS, not part 3. :bunnydanc:bunnydanc:blissysmi:rock :)

I don't think aliens would of been a good way to finish the series.
Alien 3 felt like a finish. The end of aliens felt as if it definitely should have carried on. it was in alien 3 when ripley realized there was no way to escape her fate and all these creatures that had been with her all along the way.
So rather than carry on she and her " baby " jumped into the lava stuff !. :D

Then they decided they wanted more money and " resurrected " her !. :lol

Alien 3 was IMHO not that great. I really hated the way they just killed of Hicks and Newt. It was a big '^^^^ you' to all the fans.

Alien Resurrection brought back some of the feelling of Aliens, and Ron Pearlman was excellent.

I like the Aliens Movies.
AVP is where I start regretting the direction where they're taking the alien saga.
