Graphics are better and so are the setpieces (the sentry sequence says it all). But the AI and the general gameplay mechanics look the same.
Time to send in some Colonial Marines to find out what the hell happened to the development team at GearBox offices.
Anyone play the PC version? Is there any improvement to it over the console version that are out now?
For you guys who didn't read the previous pages, it has been overly demostrated that that footage was scripted, probably even prerendered.
This Pitchsuck saying they were making the game themshelves (which is false), and commenting over a fabricated footage.
And top on that, many people suspect that they spent the Sega's money on making Borderlands 2, which is a very consistent theory. We'll see if this ends on a lawsuit.
Biggest scam seen in the video game world in a while.
That dynamic lighting and fires and fog are more proper of a render program. So are the realistic faces. Programing it into a real-time gameplay is another story (in the real game the fires are 2D sprites lol).It looks like real footage to me. It's not mind blowing or so good that I would think it's cg or not in game. Whether or not it's legit hasn't come out either way.
They put a good time into developing Borderlands 1 & 2, not this one or Duke Nukem. Have you seen the staff at TimeGate's? They are like twelve people. How in the world a staff of twelve people which were known for doing some very minor projects could handle a big launch like this one? I'll tell you the answer: they couldn't.snappahead said:They were the original developers and had apparently put a good ***** of time into development before handing it over, so that wasn't a lie at the time and they have been up front about the outsourcing so it wasn't some dirty trick they were playing in that department.
And again these people were paid by Sega for doing Colonial Marines, not Borderlands which is another title of another company. The manpower hours of Gearbox went into that instead (I think this is evident). Theorically TimeGate was on board to help them but instead they did all the job. There is a big difference between helping and doing all the thing.snappahead said:Again..the Sega funds being misused is another speculation that isn't really worth talking about really.
But that's just personal bitterness, not a rational reaction to the situation.
Also, stuff is retconned for video games and other mediums all the time. As a fan, you have every right to simply ignore it rather than let yourself be insulted by it. This is something some of us SW fans have learned the hard way over the years thanks to the EU.
You think this game's story ****ed on the legacy of ALIENS? Let me introduce you to Shadows of The Empire and the ****y Force Unleashed games...
The thing of it is is that this game really isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. The only reason they're pissed off is because they feel like it was false advertising to show a spectacular demo and then being sold a subpar final product. It's bad from that aspect yes but the gameplay itself isn't so bad. I'm not sure why people are griping so much. Seems to me everyone is just on board with the first person who pointed out that the demo is nothing like what we got as far as visuals, but really what's wrong with the gameplay itself? There's plenty of weapons, customizations, characters and missions. Sure it could use more cinematics and better graphics lighting etc, but even the story itself is pretty good. I think the marine gameplay is better than the AVP marine gameplay.
so you would be okay with buying a toy or a statue and getting a piece of S___ after being told what you saw in the advertisements and images was the final product

I downloaded an update on PS3 and one I recognized immediatly was that the graphics were way better and sensibility was balanced better. Can´t wait how LV-426 looks.
Other then that, either way I´m way easier satisfied, or I´m just easier on the critic side.
I like the game so far...
Yeah I liked the first 5 minutes too......just wait.
Snoop, I´m now battling the WY soldiers can´t wait to get of the Sulaco, but so far...I´m still liking it...
