Yup, totally agree. Man of many faces. Surprisingly enough, Bill Duke has aged well. Saw him at SDCC this year and the man looks exactly the same. Coolness. It's like everyone from that movie has aged (either in physique or face) except him.

Aw, yeah! He's like 6' 6" or something like that. I got his autograph and told him how much I loved him in Command and Predator. Really great guy!

Bill Duke seems like a nice chap in the interviews alright and I agree he doesn't look all that different now. Time has been kindest to him of all the Predator cast.

Fellow boardie Nicky met Richard Chaves at a convention last year or something and said he was a good sort too and apparently said he would have loved if an action figure had been made of Poncho, that he would have allowed his likeness to be used.

I know the Gort helmet for predator was the original helmet that they decided was to indicative of what the predator's actual face looked like and so opted for the helmet / bio mask with minimalist features.

How did that Gort design come to be called guardian?

And what is "Yautja"?

Yautja I THINK was created for the comics as a name for the predator species. Rather than keep just referring to them as predator's. Could be wrong though.

That's right, I'd say. I honestly thought the better name would be the Hish, from one of the novels. But to each their own.

They called them the Hish, because in the novel, the Predators had these glands that would increase heart rate or pump some sort of adrenaline-esque chemical. This caused them to brutally lash out in aggression, even towards other Preds. While that idea sounds inaccurate to the fullest, at least the name's catchy :D.

Yea I remember reading about that. And how those glands were the reason that the Predator race came very close to extinction. Those glands made them too violent and self destructive.

Yeah, but they got that from us. They weren't calling them Yautja until recently... it's anybody's game.

Eh, whatevs. They'll always be "Predators" to me.
