Hey pjam, I have been keeping up with this project since the beginning even though I have never posted here and was just wondering if it is too late to join in if you guys don't mind. It seems at this point the number of kits has dropped, so if there is still room, I would love to get a kit or two and maybe help keep the cost down. I completely understand if you guys are "locked" in with the present group and don't want to add any more people.

Oh, plenty of time Lonnie. We haven't even started yet. You have been added to the list my friend. Actually we have had only ONE order dropped so far. I will be PMing everyone who has not yet responded very soon.

Projected Start Date This Month. Those who haven't responded please confirm your orders.

I knew it Indy! :lol

Btw, I may ask Hurricane to do up my Sentry Guns too! Can you imagine seeing these things at night blasting light bursts!? :google:monkey5

Status Note: We definitely have enough guys on board to launch the project. Angie and I are trying to get in touch with Mudshark as he is providing mech drawings for her but no one has heard from him. We need Mech drawings to get started.

Any ideas on that Guys?

Hey pjam still in 4-4. If worse comes to worse I will do the drawings. Really swamped with stuffz right now. PM me with specifics if it comes to it.

I've been working on the decal designs. When I get some more done, I'll post an example so you can get an idea of how they will look and also to get some feedback. Before finishing them, I will need to have scale drawings as well so I can scale the decals to the appropriate size.

Awesome DBoz!

So, here's a sample of what I've been working on for the decals. Keep in mind, these are not to scale. It is only a test sheet. What I would like is some feedback and suggestions. For example, the part that says "Microgramma Bold Extended" and "Eurostile Bold Extended" is actually what is printed on the control unit (albeit very faintly). These are actually the names of the font in which they are printed. What I would like to know is do you guys want accuracy or would you like something more sci-fi instead of just font names.

Keep in mind that these are a work in progress and are not final. I have yet to tackle the computer screens.

Let me know what you all think.

Nice work Dboz, they look great.

Its curious that they printed the name of the typeface used into the guns lol Instead, why not put:

"Note to ebay: These REPLICA guns cannot be moddified in anyway to actually fire and harm Xenomorphs"

Seriously though, if the typeface names is what was on the guns in the movie, Id stick with it. Besides they'l be so small they'd barely be legible right?

So wahts the situation with the gun drawings??? Im running abit behind on my stuff but Im only doing the mics stuff: the laptop and power battery. Will have them done soon I promise :)

STATUS UPDATE:

I have heard from Mudshark and he is ON IT! He and Angie will be in contact so we are on the move again. Many Thanks to Brother Mudshark.

DBoz, Awesome work my friend! LOVE It. My 2 cents, keep it film accurate. :D

Actually there's a good reason for that, back in the day (before computers and vinyl printers etc.) lettering on props was mostly done with "ye olde ancient Letraset", on which the Font name etc was info on the bottom and top of the actual Letraset sheets, however this was also usable as lettering itself so in a prop that was used as background piece it saved the prop makers time and obviously budget if they used the whole sheet for detailing, so there ya go some useless info that you didn't need to know! :google

Anyhoo, I look forward to hearing from Mudshark, STENDEC and Dboz on on the Decals and mech drawings for the various parts of the Sentry Gun and with the help of this team I look forward to working up a great Sentry Gun kit for you guys. :chew

Regards
