The general consensus is it looks great but it's all about setting up further movies and doesn't really answer any questions. Really annoying trend.

I wish Cameron seemed more sincere.

Anyway, he is the master at mashing up well-trodden ideas. Here we have Rollerball meets Battlebots (Real Steel).

Curious how Cameron's power loader will make it into this film. Exo-police suits?

Cameron is capable of so much.

I am not interested in a computer generated 12 year old girl as my next favorite badass.

My kingdom for a self-contained blockbuster in 2019.

Though it does seem like cyberpunk and sci-fi in general aren't smart moves nowadays. I absolutely hate the current state of event films. If it's not one of the same three films we got last year, audiences don't care. They'll eat up whatever garbage is served as long as it has characters they recognize.

Cameron is really desperate for a lasting franchise, eh? Hopefully this still stands on its own even with the sequel baiting.

I’m happily surprised to see that Hot Toys actually posted official pictures of their Alita figure, which means it should be up for preorder soon. I was expecting it to be in Valerian hell.

The reviews have actually improved quite a bit. What started out as a 33% RT score is now trending up at 51%, and on Metacritic it doesn't have evendors one negative review, just mixed and positives. It seems like it's an amazing 3D experience too.

From what I've been reading, it looks good, has great action, but also has problems. But that could be said for a lot of movies.

I thought Mortal Engines looked good and it was a HUGE flop- this one looks less ground-breaking to me....

I watched it last night. Finally Hollywood got a manga adaptation right! it's not perfect (might have been better to split some storylines to sequels) but it was a good entertaining ride. They stuck to the source material really well. Despite its PG13 rating, I was surprised by how much violence they were able to show. The action scenes were top notch. I'd watch it again with no hesitation.
