I watched it last night. Finally Hollywood got a manga adaptation right! it's not perfect (might have been better to split some storylines to sequels) but it was a good entertaining ride. They stuck to the source material really well. Despite its PG13 rating, I was surprised by how much violence they were able to show. The action scenes were top notch. I'd watch it again with no hesitation.

I loved it too, although I wouldn't bet on any sequels. This will be like ghost in the shell but a little more mainstream IMO

Their one use of the f word was great! In imax 3d it looked great, although wasn't as impressed visually as I was with aquaman. Either way I'm glad I ordered the prime 1 statue, the mini gun scene was unfortunately extremely brief!

Yeah I think they overspent here and I don't think they'll make their money back unless good word of mouth (audience reviews seem positive so far) gets people to watch this. Last I heard, it was tracking to be a box office flop in the USA.

A friend of mine also saw this and said it was great. Reassuring, yet as he was explaining, I still didn't get that 'interest factor' that will drive me to the theater. I wonder if its just Marvel burn-out after the 10 year plan? I just can't get it up for Alita.

Is 32M for those markets good? Because 32M doesn't sound that great.

I was told this is Fox's last movie as Fox. Disney's cutting the studio down to 4-6 releases a year (down from 16). The word "bloodletting" was used.

Personally, I'm very sad to see Fox go.

I think the number is good. It opened way better than GITS.

GITS's total gross has already been beaten in Korea, Taiwan, Malyasia, Hong Kong and Indonesia. Looking pretty strong in East Asia.

Read the manga, then you'll understand why there's a following.

Just got back from an Imax show, I really enjoyed it. The action and visuals are top notch. I hope we get a few sequels, the universe is too rich to not explore.

It needs to make money to get sequels. If what has been reported is true with a 200m budget it needs to pull in a solid 600m to break even.

Yeah gonna need the international market to probably save it

Hope you enjoy it, I'm definitely going again!

Yeah I'm rooting for this little underdog of a film too. I wasn't a fan of the original manga/anime (never heard of them until this movie was announced) but I really enjoyed the movie. I since watched the OVA and I must say I preferred the live action adaptation.

I have tickets to see it tomorrow night in Dolby Atmos. Even if it's a bomb at the Boxoffice you'll always have this one Special film to cherish at home 4EVA! :)
