true that, you have a point. I'll always love and give props to Ninja Scroll - it's pretty much what got me into Anime back in the day (along with Akira). The mini series was cool too.

But I definitely stand by my opinion of Basilisk. Animation quality and story are top notch in that series. And of course, all the crazy Ninja bad-assery The live action version was damn cool too (Shinobi).

the moment I saw Basilisk, about 4 years ago, thanks to my bro, I was floored. I knew I had to watch the whole series non stop. It was too good from the beginning to the end. Love the Romeo and Juliet theme going on, plus the bad ass powers each characters have. Its like naruto on crack times 10.

It wasn't a masterpiece, but damn cool in a Ninja magic action flick with some nice gore going on kinda way.

Or are you thinking of the other Shinobi live action series which I think was set in modern times (can't confirm since I never saw it personally)?

No, I'm talking about the Shinobi movie. Cool power on Oboro's part, though. Anyway, there's a live action series!? I've never heard of it!

Naw - there was another Shinobi movie series - totally unrelated to this one though. I remember seeing the DVD's when I was all crazy into this stuff, just never tried 'em out. I know they made at least 3 flicks.

i tried watching the first dvd....didnt pass 15 minutes. not for me. its like the Bold n Beautiful with ninjas. Im actually thinking of giving it as a xmas present to my girlfriend's mom sine she loves drama haha!

That movie made me cry and I watched it undubbed with no subtitles or anything. Just straight japanese yet I bawled like a child from intro to credits. It was that sad! Anyhoo, I think its called Hotaru no Haka in japanese. Highly recommended!
