Just got an email from Amazon that the Hellboy Library Edition Volume 1: Seed of Destruction and Wake the Devil (hardcover) is up for pre-order.
($32.97) Looks pretty damn sweet....I have these in paperback...but may need to upgrade. :)

Product Description
Since Mike Mignola's Hellboy first hit the stands in 1993, it has become a cultural sensation, racking up a dozen Eisner Awards and inspiring numerous spinoffs, from a novel line, to video games, to feature films. Now, Dark Horse is pleased to present the comics that started it all, collected in deluxe hardcover editions. Sized at 9" by 12", and handsomely bound to match The Art of Hellboy hardcover, each volume contains two full story-arcs - the equivalent of two trade-paperbacks. Each volume of the Hellboy Library Editions also includes extensive supplemental materials, including previously unreleased sketches and designs.

yeah I got that same email....

... I know I'll be buying every Library Edition HB released ..... :monkey2

Now I'm thinking twice about them. I already own all the paperbacks. I don't know. :lol

I own the paperbacks too.....but these hard cover editions look really nice.....plus it has extra artwork and stuff. I like "arty" type books anyway....I have the Frank Miller 300 and the Art of 300 and the Art of Hellboy...so these will fit in nicely with those......and I can always sell the paperbacks. :D And so can you! :lol

exactly.

Ive always cherished my Sin City books, but the hardbound collection trumps them 10fold ...

I know. I know. I have the Sin City books, the Art of 300, Sin City and Hellboy books along with a bunch of DC Absolute Editions. And you're right, Jen...I can sell my paperbacks. Oh, the peer pressure!

Thanks for the info... I'm considering placing an order since I only own the first volume of the trades. Might be the ideal way to finally start my collection of the graphic novels in earnest. :D

I can't wait for Del Toro to get to work on Gollum, trolls, goblins, wolves, spiders, etc. The creatures in The Hobbit will be in good hands.

But will Gollum be motion captured by Doug Jones or Andy Serkis?

I'm anxiously awaiting Del Toro's Hobbit. The thing is that the Hobbit has always had a kid's flair to it and I think that GDT will definitely make it more adult....should be interesting to see how purists react because what he has done with Hellboy Universe is nothing short of phenomenal.

Np, im glad to show everybody the great work made by DDT Efectos that Wink an Angel really surprised me they are really big creatures :google.

That's not excactly true. Its because Mignola HATES seeing his work in amnimaed form. He walked out of Amazing Screwed on Head because he just could not stand looking at it. That's the reason for the change.

That's not what Mignola said last year while doing interviews for Darkness Calls. He said he wanted the movies to stand on their own.

As far as the third movie, I beleved it to be in porduction and was going to be released to coinside with the Golden Army release.

Tad Stones has already confirmed that there will not be a third movie. DVD sales for the first two movies were not good enough to warrant a third movie. Almost everybody who worked on the movies has moved on to other projects so a new movie if given a green light would take almost a year before it could even be released.

Thanks for the link... it sucks that there is no thrid animated movie planned. But it is good to hear that the Universal execs are raving about The Golden Army. Here's to hoping that there is a third theatrical film. :D

:duff to that...

I still think HB2 is going to do number larger than expected.
Alot of people discovered HB on DVD and missed HB at the theater.
HB2 number will crush the original's box office numbers..... :monkey1

Not that Box Office numbers mean as much as they used to. DVD sales I think account for more $$$ than box office these days.
