As manuals go it's nicely laid out and the transformation looks pretty in keeping with most Masterpieces, not too complex , but not too simplistic either.

Re: the Megatron debate,
Obviously he's one of several toys that can never work 100% properly unless mass shifting technology is invented and made available to Takara.

Other characters that don't work for similar reasons include Triple Changers, Soundwave and Reflector.

Shockwave was meant to be a giant space cannon so he got away with it.

Until Hegemon came along I was of the opinion that a second Masterpiece should have been something like that Ultimetal figure, the transformation wasn't a requirement. Hegemon proved a really good G1 Megatron robot mode can be achieved albeit with some compromise made to the gun mode and that was made by a small company without a license.

With the design team Takara have they should be able to do something that's at least as good and probably even better.

Latest pic from Shogo Hasui's twitter feed is of MP-13B Soundblaster and Ratbat. This comes out this week, so I should have my order of this and MP-12G sometime next week!!

Can't wait!! Cant beat two black repaints :)

A lot of people feel that way, I'm sure. On the bright side, sorta, I'm sure it won't be long before the parts are recast and made for sale by themselves through shady 3rd parties.

I think Ratbat is a rare case of Shogo Hasui not nailing something 100%.

Ratbat's inner wings should be all purple, but he's designed the toy so some of the cassette details are there and it detracts from the accuracy to the source material.

Online reviewer Optibotimus has recieved his Scoria. Here's some of the pictures he's taken,

There's apparently not as much diecast as Quakewave but the plastic quality is just as good and there's still a bit of tweaking to the red paint being done for the production version in addition to a bit of fine tuning on the tightness of some of the joints.

Grimlock's shoes look OK, I'll likely display Wheeljack in front of him so I won't really notice them too much.

I might get flamed for this but he looks kind of meh to me. Nowhere near as cool as quakewave when I first saw him.

None of the figures look that great, to be quite honest. I think it must be the lighting - everything looks kind of... Stark, maybe?

As for Soundblaster... You guys should just watch the Headmasters series. You'll want the figure after that. He's pretty cool in that series. Much more prevalent than I had realized.

Twincast, not so much, but I'd still buy one, even if it didn't come with a really important cassette.

Same.

Maybe its the lighting.

Not that I'm planning to get him.

Might be, but now that is two sets of photos eliciting the same "meh" reaction where lighting may be suspect. May not be the lighting after all.

Idk, to me every other fig looks great in those photos, specially smokescreen. Scoria really just looks meh. It's claimed that this figure was an early production piece and not the final product, right?
Man, transformers are really my heart and soul, but the way HT, SSC with their PF's and to some degree, Enterbay have been spoiling us with their stuff, it's becoming harder and harder to justify TF's purchases unless for specific MP's to me.

This is a big no so far.

I really like Scoria, but the problem I see (the only way I can explain it) is that its like Scoria was made by Sideshow and Grimlock was made by Medicom. Its not just a height thing, but Grimlock sort of looks scrawny comparatively.

Well, this latest shot of MP Soundblaster is a little confusing. So the chest plate is removable?? To reveal a red cover underneath!?!!? Not sure what the point of that would be.......

The blue version has that as well, it's there to allow different looks and add paper inserts.

On the blue version the original chest piece had the logo and the underlining streak. The extra chest piece was the grid only. Why is the logo on the extra piece? Is it being more accurate to an older toy? Having no logo?
