That looks nicer than the scrawny POS that Hasbro released.

Agreed. MakeToys have impressed me with the Green Giant and now this, I think they look beast. The other Metroplex looks skinny compared to this guy. MakeToys version actually looks like a huge intimidating Transformer.

He looks 100x better than hasbro's, yes. But he should def be bigger than this:

Definitely IMO he should be twice the size of Devestator but I expect that would be massively uneconomical & also a massive pain to display.
I reckon a good scale might be one & a half times the size of Dev that would be some extra size

As it stands too small but still an impressive figure none the less

Yoshi,
I was never taken with Green Giant but I like some of MakeToys other releases, their IDW Swerve & Gears set is the first one of their products I've bought and I'm just waiting for the dealer I bought from to get it in stock.

Generations Metroplex has the height but not the bulk and the torso looks ridiculous.

MakeToys have traded some height for bulk and appear to have achieved a decent result....even the city mode looks good which has to be a first on any Metroplex toy.

soundwave,
The MakeToys Metroplex is definitely not Masterpiece scale but it'll look good in a Classics/FOC display.

I think if a Masterpiece Metroplex happened there'd have to be some kind of compromise with the scale otherwise the development costs would make it unviable for Takara and beyond the budget of the 3rd parties.

Are they customs or alternate versions of diaclone drivers? I just want to get like a bunch of those to man all the stations in some transformers, but they are expensive, and was looking for an alternative...

I was thinking the same thing.
At least this one has some proper weight to him & doesn't look like a strong gust of wind would snap him in two

He would have to be massive to work properly now that the rest of the Dinobots are coming & potentially in correct scale if Giga Power get theirs right & that means mega $$$'s which I think even die hard fans will find hard to part with

Looks great but ultimately useless...would have been better putting those resources towards something else IMO

Neil

I'm leaning towards gigapower's Dinos due to the scale. I much prefer them hulking over Prime than on the same level.
Just depends on the quality of the final product.

Like G1/Diaclone sized? Or for MPs?

I imagine there must be KOs of the originals, but I don't actually know for sure... Seems like every single G1 TF got KO'ed, I'd be surprised if the more rare Diaclone stuff hasn't.

I got the second TPB of IDW's "More Than Meets The Eye" this week and enjoyed it a lot more than the first one.

So far my favorite characters are Swerve, Tailgate and Whirl and the Decepticon Justice Division are pretty badass.

I don't think IDW always do a great job with the more established G1 characters, their take on Prowl for example is terrible, whereas their Cliffjumper as seen in the Spotlight is awesome.

But they're really good at using the lesser used or outright obscure characters and for someone like me who's bored stiff with Prime, Bumblebee & co it's very intresting.

Man Wheeljack looks awesome!!!!

Cannot wait.

Silhouette confirmation for Magnus is cool as well, now roll out the Proto please!!!!

Is that Dai Atlas on the page with Magnus??
Would be interested to know what that column says.

Neil

Now is Magnus suppose to be a white MP10 with armor pieces, or a whole new figure? Even though I've had no interest in any of the MP cars, wheeljack is looking mighty good.

I think it's Star Saber, the one that won the MP vote last year.

Yup, it's star saber.

Thanks guys.

I should have thought better, the pic looks nothing like Atlas :slap lol

Will be interesting to see how that MP turns out.

I reckon I'll have to own him for niche value if nothing else

Personally I'd have been more happy with a Power Master Convoy but Saber will be cool anyway.
Wonder if they'll do it like Magnus with a smaller figure & then the armour as well.

I'm actually quite excited by him tbh...more than I thought I would be anyway.

I'm torn as well with the Dinobots.
I love Scoria but I'm in 2 minds whether to hold out for more info on Giga Power's ones.
I love the sheer size potential of them.

:gah::gah: I really don't know what to do.
