Now is Magnus suppose to be a white MP10 with armor pieces, or a whole new figure? Even though I've had no interest in any of the MP cars, wheeljack is looking mighty good.

White MP10 with armor is most likely.

Wheeljack having the proper Alitalia branding is an awesome suprise :yess:

Ultra Magnus & Star Saber = A nice break for my wallet.

Anyone else think it's slightly strange that Takara chose to turn a high powered race car into the biggest geek on their team? So, he's really the best of both worlds, as one of the fastest cars presumably, and smartest, most useful robots. It's a cool juxtaposition, but one that seems strange in a cartoon like this, where you'll usually have a single primary identity/role for each character.

It'd be intresting to know what the thinking was behind it, maybe they made the Autobot engineer a race car because they figured he'd be good at tuning himself? :lol

I reckon the most likely case is that the alt mode was an afterthought when they were assigning roles and duties. Possible exceptions like Bumblebee and Prime.

Ratchet would have been another exception but I agree that it could have been a random decision.

The other possible alternative is that Hasbro & Marvel ( who came up with all the G1 character names and backstories ) looked at the Diaclone Lancia Stratos and saw that's what the robot's role was and reused it for their rebranding.

There is a sort of detached, clinical nature to Wheeljack's face, considering he has no mouth and his eyes weren't particularly expressive (though maybe I was just imagining the last part). Of course, Bumblebee the toy didn't have a mouth, either. Nor did Prime. . .just forget I posted anything :lol

Where the hell are the Decepticons?

Totally displaying Wheeljack like this:

Ultra Magnus is characterized as the archetypal soldier, a stoic warrior with unsurpassed courage who is disinclined towards the prospect of leadership. A large, powerful robot, he possesses launchers capable of hitting a target 30 miles away. In Transformers: The Movie, Optimus Prime passes the Matrix to Ultra Magnus; the latter, believing himself unworthy of the role of leader, accepts the mystic vessel reluctantly. Soon after, Ultra Magnus rallies the remaining Autobots as the Decepticons, now led by Galvatron, launch a follow-up attack against Autobot City. Piloting the vehicle mode Cyclonus, Galvatron, eager to gain access to the Matrix of Leadership, resolves to destroy Ultra Magnus. Dividing their ranks, the Autobots board a pair of shuttles and withdraw from Earth. On the Planet of Junk, Magnus makes a valiant stand again Galvatron and the Sweeps to buy escape time for his comrades. Failing to open the Matrix and unleash its power, Magnus is swiftly blasted apart by the Sweeps. In the aftermath of the battle, however, Magnus’ remains are collected and reconstructed by the Junkions.

I literally cannot wait for Magnus now.

Reading that guff from BBTS has only made him one of my most wanted figures of the year, can't wait to see how the transformation works for the MP10 figure to fit the armour.

I know most don't go for the '86 crew but he is still one of my best loved toys from when I was a kid.

I really want Cyclonus now as well.

Oh my, a Cyclonus MP would totally rock. After Galvatron, of course.

Magnus looks interesting and looking forward to more info. I'm thinking 12 inches sounds a little tall though?

Got my stand in Sunny (TT) today

Makes me want an official one even more now though.
Just waiting on my MP 10b before Scoria now :impatient:

Tigertrack fits in nicely to that display, nice work giving Sideswipe his shoulder launcher!

Wheeljack is going to look amazing with the other cars and being the first one with a unique mold he'll really stand out.
