$240? Yikes! is that because of import fees and whatnot? Are you not picking up Bee and Ultra Magnus? Ive been very tempted to jump on the 3rd party Dinobots train but havent bit the bullet, there is just so much coming out next year I really need to be picky because of space reasons. I like you was only collecting 3rd party prior to MP12,bought quite a few figures and now that the MP line has picked up Ive sold most of them mainly because the MP line has been scratching that Transformers itch Ive had. Hasui's work really has pulled me in and I really hope he does get to continue on the MP line forever. Any guesses on who is the next MP figure? There is much speculation that is Megatron or Galvatron, both of who Id welcome with open arms. Still Id love to see Hound done ASAP and once him, Megatron V2 and Devastator are done, the rest will be icing on the cake for me.

I expect it's import fees that's contributed to the final price.

I'm not going give Kapow Toys any real flak for it because they have to make their money back and compared to other UK import stores their pricing is among the best but I think it's a shame that Takara gave a lesser character like Sunstorm a regular release whereas Skywarp has been made an Exclusive. It should have been the other way round.

Bumblebee is always a difficult sell to me as like Prime I think he's very overexposed as a character and seeing endless Bayformer toys as well as movie influenced designs like the one in the Prime cartoon clogging up the pegs in local supermarkets and TRU's has made me a bit sick of the sight of him.

I don't think Masterpiece Bumblebee is awful considering how small it is compared to the other Autobot cars but compared to Cubex/Bad Cube's Huffer, Brawn and Outback it looks a bit lame, I don't like how the horns on his head have been rounded off and whilst cartoon accurate I think the white face looks cheap on a Masterpiece level toy and I also don't like the kibble on the back of the forearms. I'm not totally writing off getting him as I could repaint the face, but he's some way down the list of priorities, particularly with more FT Dinobots being at the top of my list.

I have pre-ordered Ultra Buttflap but the more I see of him, the more I think I did it on impulse. He's very oversized and bloated looking and won't really display well with anything else. I'll keep the pre-order as I am curious about the transformation but I'm pretty certain I'll put it straight back in the box and onto ebay.

Star Saber looks the most intresting of the next few confirmed Masterpieces but his color scheme makes him look a bit like something from Power Rangers. If there was some sort of Decepticon colored repaint I'd probably give the mold a try.

Not sure who's currently being speculated on for the next new mold to be announced but having just seen the pics of that 3rd party Masterpiece style Megatron I would put money on Takara deciding to roll out their new one ASAP because like the Fans Toys Soundwave prototype the 3rd party looks good enough that it might actually affect Takara's sales.

Takara better open their mouths and announce their Megatron or otherwise I'm buying this 3rd party reveal

Wonder if that will turn out to actually be the price because that seems like less than Takara will sell theirs for.

The MP-05 one I had back in the day was a joke. It was just a little bit of orange ribber stuck in the barrel. Didn't require any effort to get it out.

So was MCM Expo at the Excel this weekend & I popped along as I usually as usual though I never take enough money.

Plenty of people there selling TF's & quite a few Masterpiece to be seen even some 3rd party stuff in the form of Feral Rex pieces however my biggest surprise & what I'm most gutted about is after I'd spent my budget I stumbled across a stall that had Cubex Huffer for £45 :gah:
I couldn't scrape enough together to get him & I'm really gutted now.

I did however get some TF related pieces in the form of these...

2 Prints from Lee Bradley who is supremely talented & also IDW Collection volume 3 for under half the Amazon price :yess:

I also got Batman Play Arts Kai figures...which is what killed my budget for Huffer & I'm really gutted about now :monkey2:monkey2

Was a great day though & the Cosplay eye candy was up to it's usual cracking standard :clap:wink1:

So, what do you all think of Gigapower's Dinobots offering?

I know it's not a well known company, but man their snarl is looking amazing. I'll be willing to give it a shot once reviews are out, as the scale on that thing is amazing.

Never really liked FT's offerings all that much tbh, they look a little undersized.

Now that looks perfect.

I held off on the FT figures because these were teased & it looks like it might have paid off, Snarl is a BEAST!!!
Looks much more like they should in the original cartoon, the sheer bulk is so imposing.

Price dependant I reckon I'm down for that.

Looks amazing

gigapower figure looks nice but the paint looks really off / like it would look odd with the rest of the masterpiece figures where the fanstoys dinobots fit right in

The Gigapower dude almost looks more like it's in the same aesthetic as some of the stuff in the '86 movie. Has tons of little tech detail on every surface. Kinda reminds me of what Unicron looks like in that. I agree it doesn't really fit in with the MP stuff though it does look good.

I'd love to collect the Gigapower Dino's too, but I am ALL in with the Fans Toys Dino's...I just can't justify buying these figures twice...besides,Fan Toys has yet to reveal their Snarl prototype
