Thanks man. Looks like they charge $40 on the low end for shipping to the U.S., so BBTS is an equally bad option!

Yeah. I missed Nippon Yasan's email charging me for Magnus ($130) as it went to my spam folder. So I went the RK route an it only saves me around $10 -$15 vs going with bbts. Free coin though.

On other news, Gigapower first Dinobot is finally on PO at bbts for a whooping $214.99. Kinda high for a new third party company IMO, but it's said to be mostly alloy.... Looks phenomenal tough.

Thing is huge.

The Giga dino Snarl looks cool, but I am sticking with Fans Toys Dino's all the way! they look great together and straight out of the cartoon. I got Swoop, MP Magnus,MP-10 Prime, and Blaster all coming within the week or so

Nippon-Yasan = :cuckoo:

They seem to be a bit sketchy with notifying people and the whole cancelling of accounts if someone changes their mind on one order is a bit extreme.

$214.99 is roughly £140 which is about the same as Scoria but international shipping and customs fees would probably add £30 or so to the final total.

If there were no Fans Toys Dinobots I'd be more intrested but having compared the two I'm not a fan of,

1.The robot mode has a similar kind of bloated look as MP22. It's as if it's based on some of the Dreamwave art. FT's Sever is almost the same height but better proportioned.

2.The dinosaur legs aren't even hidden in robot mode which makes it look like an oversized KO of a G1 toy with a bit of extra articulation and the dinosaur mode hasn't got the same range of articulation in the legs as Sever.

3.The gold bits don't look as vibrant as the chrome FT have used.

Kapow Toys will have Soar in stock on Friday and Transbridge.co.uk are currently saying end of January so I'll have a slightly longer wait but I'm still really excited about getting another Dinobot, even if the alternate face makes him look drunk :lol

I agree, the fact that the Dino legs aren't hidden in Robot form are a bit of a letdown.

I know you are not a fan of MP22 and I respect that, but as others have mentioned, I believe his size is just right. AND, if I'm not mistaken, the Dinobots all towered Optimus Prime much like Magnus does, so this picture kinda sold me on what Gigapower Is doing:

Dinobots should be as big as Magnus, and slightly shorter than Skyfire IMO.

I really don't think (at least I'm not sure) if the FT's Dinos are going to be this menacing looking in size, but based on the two that are available, I don't think they will. They are slightly taller than Prime, and that's something I just can't justify. One thing is for sure though, FT's has proven that they can do great Transformers (Qwakewave is the only third party TF I own, and I think it's better built than any TT's MP Robot).

Fair enough.

I use Faith Leader instead of MP10 so FT's Dinobots will work well enough for me.

I think as a kid I resented how Prime and Megatron were replaced with what I thought were inferior looking characters so I never took to Magnus and Galvatron. Series 3 & 4 of the cartoon also never aired here so I only ever saw them in the '86 movie.

I enjoyed their appearance in the UK Marvel story Target 2006 which I bought the reprinted version of a couple of months ago and I'm going to go back and read some more stories from that time as that's where I had the biggest exposure to most of the G1 cast.

I much prefer the UK comic personas to the cartoon as they were generally a lot more intelligent, particularly characters like the Dinobots who were massively short changed by Sunbow.

Congrats!

My MP 22 and MP 11SW are on the way!

What are your thoughts on Magnus?

My video review is uploading now! :)

But in summary, he is pretty damn amazing. I love the all-in-one transformation, although there are at least a couple of quite fiddly bits that gave me trouble. But in terms of G1 aesthetics in both bot and alt mode, there's nothing better than MP-22!

Just got the gray Toy Dojo exclusive Quakewave. Really liking him though I could do without the diecast. He's heavy enough that I think thrown with enough force he could kill an elephant.

Here's my review of MP-22 Ultra Magnus! Not without its flaws, but overall still a pretty damn amazing figure that has serious presence on display with the other MPs. Hope you can check out the review :)

They do look really good, but your pic there actually makes me realize that I don't need this guy. He detracts from the classic TV show aesthetic pretty strongly there.

Magnus and Rodimus go great together. As we get more movie figures and later stuff the display will even out. I'm guessing some people who have been buying every MP release will also start only getting stuff from whatever era they like best.

Thanks for the review Khai!

Alas it made me wish I hadn't pre-ordered MP 22. It looks fiddly as hell and apart from looking bad from the back in bot mode, I think the trailer looks atrocious in vehicle mode. I have no nostalgia for Magnus whatsoever, in fact I pretty much loathed the character when I was a kid and was on the fence about pre ordering but kinda got swept up in all the hype when it was announced. I'll wait until I have it in hand before making a final judgement but at the moment I'm really disappointed by it and it's looking ebay bound when it gets here.

I also don't like the new style of collector card and the instruction drawing too but I'm afraid that may be the style for the masterpiece line from now on.

You know what? I was just thinking the trailer looked pretty dodgy myself.
