Congrats! :clap

Don't forget to send me a PM with your details and I can send the Bumblebee coin and spare battle mask once I get back from my sisters next week.

Dr Wu are making Spike and Daniel heads for the exosuit that came with Bumblebee,

Spike looks a bit meh but still better than the stock head and Daniel is pretty good. Might be a nice option for me as I have 2 exosuits.

Thanks man.
Hope you had a good Christmas??

Sorry I totally missed your offer earlier are you sure?
I'll pop you a PM as soon as I have a few minutes & we'll have a catch up :)

Thanks again :)

How is volume 1? I wanted to get that the other day. Can you post a pic of two of the inside art?

Not too sure yet as I haven't started but it looks good & I'll happily take some pics for you tomorrow :)

HOLY CRAP!!!! Check out this incredible video of MP-22 Ultra Magnus!!! WOW!!!!

WOW, just WOW that was awesome.
I love the effort that goes into those kind of videos simply amazing

Here you go buddy...

Some of it is stunning but it's not all consistent as it collects a lot of different comics & various artists have been involved but it is a nice book & worth picking up.

Congrats on your Christmas gifts Neil. Those T shirts look great, and I particularly like the Decepticon one.

Sorry buddy didn't see your reply yesterday.
Thanks I'm really pleased with the T-shirts, they are really different to the usual designs which is nice.

:rolleyes2

Simple....not everyone likes the same things.

As I have already stated, the character is not one I have even a shred of nostalgia for and I don't buy things just for the sake of completism.

I was initially curious about MP22 but the more I saw, the more I disliked it and I decided it had no place in my collection. I let Nippon-Yasan cancel my pre-order.

You like it, be happy with that instead of trying to belittle anyone who has a different view to your own.

I wasnt trying to belittle anyone. Perhaps I should rephrase - it's beyond me how anyone who loved the 86 movie and actually feels some nostalgia about UM as a G1 toy, can complain about how this guy looks! It's like he's jumped out of the movie/tv screen!

OK, I perhaps misinterpreted how you phrased it.

MP22 may look like it stepped right out of the cartoon, but that actually does it more harm than good. The cartoon was badly drawn and plagued with inconsistencies and should never be used as the sole source of reference.

Shogo Hasui found the perfect balance of cartoon accuracy and additional detail. MP10-21 don't look exactly like they jumped out of the TV screen and are so much better for it.

Hironori Kobayashi has got the animation aesthetic down but hasn't grasped the part about adding just enough extra detail to prevent MP22 from looking like a glorified version of one of those Heroes of Cybertron figures....with a buttflap.

If MP22 is an indication of how his future figures will look then I'm done. I'm just glad I got Wheeljack, the Nissans and 2 of the Lamborghinis before things went downhill.

soundwave,
You're more than welcome to the Bumblebee extras. I only need one coin and one battle mask.

I dunno, from all the pics and video reviews coming up now, I find it more detailed than I thought it was going to be! The butt flap and lack of waist swivel are perhaps the only things that are a negative for me. But overall I think there are far more positives to the figure for me.

Plenty of rumours about upcoming MP cars, so it will definitely be interesting to see how Kobayashi's new cars compare to Hasui's cars. I'm hoping they'll be in scale and equally as amazing.

Love how MP01 looks in this pic. Glad I kept mine as well as the "sleep version"

I'm recreating this scene someday:

Interesting. It seems like MP-1 Convoy, Rodimus and the new Ultra Magnus scale really well together.

I hope that Kobayashi isn't let anywhere near any of the cars or Megatron V2.

The ones we've already had are as close to perfection as possible within Takara's budget. I don't want to see that run end because Kobayashi adds some pointless feature like the faux wheels on MP22 or because he insists on making a toy that looks identical to a badly drawn animation model.

Red Alert also has fake wheels, which I didnt mind either. Many rumours going around that the next MPs will be cars, so that leaves Kobayashi to do them. Either way, by all accounts the design process isn't one person but a large team of designers where engineering comes from a variety of people. Of course Hasui or Kobyashi would have final say as lead designer, but it's still a collaboration from the interviews I've read.

For me, as long as they fit in with the new scale and retain official licensing, I think I'll end up pretty happy.

Takara went that route with Red Alert because at the time they weren't as sure of sales with the cars as they are now and didn't think retooling the arms to the extent required to make them accurate was cost effective.

MP22's fake wheels are pointless. Why hide the actual wheels and then have a set of undersized fake ones fold out in their place?

There are lots of rumors about what's next, but as yet no facts.

I was thinking it was for the sake of cartoon accuracy but I can't seem to find any pics that show his feet from the side clearly. What images I can find seem to show him having no wheels on his feet.

Here's one I screenshot from a youtube video that shows the wheels on his feet.

And another. There are plenty of scenes in Season 3 that show his feet with wheels on the side.
